SBIE2224 -Waterfox + multi-process launch

Error received when starting Waterfox 53.0 even in default sandbox on Win 10 pro x 64 CU updated. Seems to have started since update Lastpass extension to latest but uninstalling that does no good. Hitman Pro Alert only other security app installed but tried uninstalling and again makes no difference.

Any advice appreciated.

What's your Sandboxie version? Does the issue occur in a new Sandbox?
What is the error message that you are receiving?

Hi Barb,

5.19.3 but happens in .2 also. Yes it occurs in new sandbox. Error is SBIE2224 Sandboxed program has crashed: waterfox.exe [DefaultBox]

Windows error as follows.

Occurs when forced, sent to or started with sandboxed explorer. Tried removing plug-ins. No luck. Runs fine outside SBIE

I received SBIE224 Sandboxed program has crashed: waterfox.exe when I tried launching Waterfox in Sandboxie.
I did not receive the other error message that you posted.

Please try the following outside Sandboxie:
Launch Waterfox
type about:config
accept the risk
set "browser.tabs.remote.autostart" and "browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2" to FALSE
Relaunch Waterfox outside Sandboxie
Go back to about:config and ensure the values are still set to False
Close Waterfox
Launch Waterfox in a new Sandbox (if you get Sbie2224, ignore it and see if you can use the application).

Let us know the outcome.

I do not know the details as to why multi-process may not be working with Waterfox, but I reached out to the devs for further assistance.
Hopefully they will be able to fix it at some point.
