it may not be able to reach the server in question. That is an issue you have with you're isolated in a sandbox - which is what you want SBIE to do. You may need to open some pipes in the SB .ini file. What do you need to open? What resource? Unknown. But how to edit the .ini can be found here. http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?SandboxieIni
All this worked perfectly in Windows 7, I don't understand why anything would be different (using Windows 10 now). Is there a way to enable everything, allow everything in Sandboxie? I know that's not its purpose, but my purpose is purely to have multiple instances of Steam.

Comparing Win 10 to Win 7 is like comparing Pluto to Jupiter. They are not the same. There are a ton ..A TON of changes....In security for one. We've had to add code/logic to SBIE just to support Win10. Patch Tuesday last week was a major Kernel Update. That locked tokens down. And that affected Vista to Windows 10, plus security enhancements just for Win 10.

As I'm sure many other (if not all) 3rd party providers have had to do the same and deal with the same as we are.

The multiple instances of Steam is a common usage.

I got an error "An issue with your computer is blocking the VAC system". Windows 10 build 11082 Sandboxie beta 5.07.1. Tried Block Process Access plugin, but after all this sandbox is no longer run TF2 :? Steam writes "unknown error" when trying to run TF2 in sandbox even after a reset Sandboxie.ini. Аny ideas?
P.S. Sorry for bad english.

Could be something that Steam is blocking.
usually, it's triggered when Steam detects Cheating software

Why then not all receive this error?

I cannot answer for Steam. We know that the Steam Client (at the moment works) and some games do. We cannot test all games as we do not have access to them nor do we know what Steam may or may not be doing to block / monitor SBIE type programs. But if you have something listed on that site, then it's good chance that is what's going on.

The recent 5.08 update *appears* to have fixed the issue of TF2 not launching on Windows 10 under Sandboxie. But the problem of Sandboxie blocking the VAC system is still present http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x182 ... ufmoz4.png . When not using Sandboxie there is no issue. And of course none of the advice in the link shown in the screenshot help in this case because we already know it's Sandboxie causing the problem. I'm pretty sure it's related to Windows 10 because I never had this issue using Sandboxie to play TF2 in Windows 7.

Team Fortress 2 is free, would you mind looking into this? Solving this issue should help with other games that use VAC.

Although my alts can now get TF2 run whenever they try to join a server they get the error message that an issue with my pc is blocking the vac system.
Um, the whole purpose of Sandboxie isolation is to do just that. If you want SBIE to have access to a particular service, you can edit the sandboxie.ini file to possibly do that. However, this punches a hole in SBIE and defeats the purpose of SBIE.

We did not do anything in version 5.08 or any Beta previous directly related to Steam. If something is working, it may be because of Steam or something else.

In testing, TF2 works just fine. Keep in mind, gaming was not the original intent for SBIE. While it does work, we look into issues given the priority. Gaming isn't a top priority. Windows 10 Metro, Edge support, Office Click to run and ongoing upkeep with web browsing is the current priority at the moment.

I figured out the issue! My C drive is an ssd and low capacity. I've got a D drive that is 2tb that I install my Steam games to including TF2. My sandboxes only had direct access to the D drive. Giving one access to the C drive as well fixed the VAC issue! Who knew VAC needed the C drive?

Fantastic.

I had tested TF2 in the past, and it worked as expected. A few seem to have unknown problems that persist that don't seem to be SBIE related.

Hello there. I am having the same issue as yours. Although I am using Windows 8.1 and yet I still get the VAC error. Do you suggest to update to Windows 10 to resolve this issue? Thanks.

Steam refers to Sandboxie as Cheat software and blocks accordingly. There is nothing Sandboxie can do about that VAC block at this time.

That's news to me. You got a link somewhere where Valve explicitly states this?

I tried playing again, and after a minute I got kicked from the server with a message saying my computer is blocking the VAC system :(. With the changes I made you can at least connect to a server, albeit briefly it seems. Before I couldn't connect at all.

I find this rather odd actually. It seems it just happens randomly. My TF2 is running within sandboxie in a joined server for almost 1:30:00 with no problems or errors, while other times it gets detected within 1 minute.
Picture of TF2 running in sandboxie for the last 1:30:00 hours without problems.
I really want this thing fixed, because my TF2 server depends on it actually.
