Sandboxie no internet access

Post by Dan » Fri Aug 22, 2014 7:51 am

Hello,

2 days ago i have installed the Service Pack 3 for the win xp home. Before SBie 4.12 had access to internet.
Now after installing SP3, the internet access through SBie 4.12 isnt possibile.
Im using srware iron portable version as my default internet browser.

For testing purpose i have tried to use ventrillo, firefox, free download manager, all with the same result.
SBie is not showing any messages that the access is blocked (i have reseted the hidden messages too).

For testing purpose i also have installed previous versions of SBie. The version which works (has internet connection) is v3.76. all newer versions cannot connect to the internet.

system information
winxp sp3
avira antivir
Filesclab Personal firewall (windows firewall is off)
Netlimiter 3
and proxomitron as proxy server
(iv turned them off for testing purposes ofc)

Has anyone got an sollution to this problem ?

Hi Dan, I can tell you that one of my computers is an XP SP3 desktop and Sandboxie latest versions work just fine. Perhaps a setting is messing things up. I think you should create a new sandbox and try running programs there to see if internet works. Dont change settings in the new sandbox.

Ok iv just tried that without success.
The sandboxed Program can't even access the unsandboxed proxy server (proxomitron).

try delete 'RegHive' file of that sandbox.
make sure you have it backup first~

Sandboxed programs are not automatically able to communicate with programs that are running unsandboxed, as a part of the sandbox barrier.

Using an unsandboxed proxy server program with a sandboxed program would probably require exclusion settings to be developed and then included in Sandboxie's configuration file.
There doesn't appear to be any such settings currently available for the proxy software.

If you set (unsandboxed) Firefox to ignore the proxy settings:
Firefox Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Connection: "Settings..." button
Select "No proxy"
OK your way out
and also use "Delete Contents" for that sandbox, when you then run a sandboxed Firefox is it able to access the Internet?
If so, then using the proxy software is likely the problem.

No, its not the proxy problem.
I have tried to turn off proxy settings (sandboxed and unsandboxed) without effect.
The Proxy server (proxomitron) was always running outside the box, and the sandboxed web browser could access it, with the newest version too, before upgade to sp3.

What i meant is, NO program, be it ftp, irc (with mirc), miranda (icq, yahoo, msn), Iron Portable, SlimJet, SlimBoat, OffbyOne, Firefox or Tcpview can access internet in the sandbox (SB 412).

What works is the Ping And Tracert running in the sandboxed console.

What im currently doing is (without reboot !):

Installing SandboxieInstall32-412.exe, starting Iron Portable (Chrome based web browser) > no internet connection.
Installing SandboxieInstall32-376.exe, Iron Can connect to internet. (and other programs too)
