Limited User & Sandboxie 2.62

Post by Unknown_User_449 » Sun Oct 08, 2006 10:51 pm

I just recently upgraded to 2.62 and for some reason I'm getting an error as I try to open anything in sandboxie. Anytime I try to open something I get a pop up window that says.

SBOX1107 Can not create directory '(top-level)' [C0000022]
SBOX1302 Could not write the sandbox registry [C0000022 / 22]

Long before the upgrade, I had changed the top level folder to my D: drive and everything worked fine before the upgrade. I run myself as a limited user and had never had any issues before. Now, if I change my top level folder back to the default setting %AppData% everything runs perfectly. Also if I run as Administrator or give my Limited User account admin privileges it works fine as well even with the top level folder in the D drive.

C0000022 is access denied. Make sure the limited user account has permissions to create the Sandbox folder.

I figured it was some kinda permissions issue. Let me run this by you and you can tell me if this would be safe.

I created a folder called " Sandboxes" on my D drive. I have 2 accounts set up on my PC, The Administrator and a Limited User account that I always run myself in day to day. I only use the admin account for maintenance.

While I'm in admin, should I give the "Sandboxes" folder on my D drive full permissions or just write permission to stop this [C0000022] error. It is safe to give it write permission, right? I'm thinking that's why I am recieving this error bacause it can't write to the folder as a limited user.

After the permission change, should I leave it with these permission or change it back after it creates the folders inside the " Sandbox " folder.

Once again, C0000022 is access denied. Just keep granting permissions until you stop getting this error. If you then want to see how few permissions you need, then just revoke them and try again with Sandboxie.
