Crome browser does not work with sanboxie
I ahve been using Firefox with sandboxie with almost no problems. However,Google Chrome does not seem to work at all.ANy solutions
Funny you should ask. I recently installed a few different versions of Chrome and tested them when sandboxed. They each worked fine for me when installed on a hard drive. The only one that gave me any trouble was one that was hacked together, so it would work on a flash drive.
So, what kind of problem are you having?

Well, on XP I just tried Chrome 1.0.154.43 installed inside of a sandbox folder; and also installed normally, and then sandboxed.
Both worked fine.
So, unless some Vista user says he is having a problem with running Chrome, sandboxed, it may be just a problem with your computer.
Possibly a security app is involved, such as a firewall, since none of the sites will open.

Re: Google Chrome DOes not work sandboxed
To run properly on Vista, Chrome requires the following switch when executed:Sandboxfan wrote:Well i downloaded the latest sandboxie and the latest Chrome.Though the browser window opens none of the sites open.My OS is Vista.
C:\Users\*\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -no-sandbox
Just add the switch to your Chrome shortcut command-line properties (Properties > Shortcut tab > "Target:"). Once you do that, you can run Chrome on Vista. To run Chrome + Sandboxie, right-click on the same shortcut and select "Run Sandboxed".

Re: Google Chrome DOes not work sandboxed
I was using the previous version of Chrome (Google Chrome 1.0.154.36) in Vista and it worked fine, sadboxed or not.nick s wrote:To run properly on Vista, Chrome requires the following switch when executed:Sandboxfan wrote:Well i downloaded the latest sandboxie and the latest Chrome.Though the browser window opens none of the sites open.My OS is Vista.

Did this sandbox feature just got added?
Also I got rid of Chrome cause it added a startup entry and a task in task scheduler for update. The program was very fast, but I am touchy about such things.
Re: Google Chrome DOes not work sandboxed
My only Chrome experience is with builds 1.0.154.43 and 2.0.157.2 on Vista. Both require the -no-sandbox switch to work properly. Take a look at A new approach to browser security: the Google Chrome Sandbox for a description of how Chrome's sandboxing works.PiCo wrote:I was using the previous version of Chrome (Google Chrome 1.0.154.36) in Vista and it worked fine, sadboxed or not.

I don't think that is necessary. The problem involves Chrome's inability to access or render web pages on Vista with Chrome's sandbox enabled. Sandboxie is not a factor. With the -no-sandbox switch, Chrome works as expected with or without Sandboxie. Without the -no-sandbox switch, Chrome is broken with or without Sandboxie.tzuk wrote:But if you say it is still needed on Vista, I'm willing to look into that.

Home Page
Chrome and Sandboxie work fine for me - I am trying to fore a start page with the following:
"C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe" "C:\Users\MikeDelora\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" www.cnn.com
Chrome opens with FireFox but the page is blank - it will not open www.cnn.com Am I missing something?
Thanks everyone

Re: Home Page
Try:
I don't know if that just sets a start page, or if it resets the Home Page, so you'll have to try it.
