ABP for IE settings

Post by bjm » Tue Aug 26, 2014 9:34 am

Hello
Having trouble getting Adblock Plus for IE to run and function sanboxed IE.
Runs and functions okay outside sanboxed IE
Added Internet Access for Adblockplusengine.exe
I get stuttering busy pointer and ads are not blocked in sandboxed IE.
Anyone have experience with ABP for IE

Vista SP2 | IE9 | FF31
Sandboxie 5.25.2 - W10 Home 1703 (15063.1058) - WebrootSA 9.0.20.31 - Firefox 59.0.3

Could be this (Sandboxie and Enhanced Protected Mode):

'Enhanced Protected Mode and add-ons

Enhanced Protected Mode helps protect your PC and personal data from malware and other attacks. When it's turned on, add-ons such as toolbars, extensions, and browser helper objects can only run if they're compatible with Enhanced Protected Mode. You'll be notified if an add-on is incompatible. If you need to run an incompatible add-on, you can turn off Enhanced Protected Mode in the desktop browser.'

Not receiving any incompatibility notice.
Running Vista w FF as primary browser. ABPlus FF works great sandboxed.
IE9 with dedicated IE sandbox with only iexplorer and adblockplusengine Internet Access.
ABPlus IE does not work sandboxed w/wo EPM
ABplus IE not sandboxed works okay. Not as mature as ABPlus FF but, it works.
My trick is how to get ABPlus IE to run sandboxed. I get stuttering busy pointer and ads are not blocked w IE sandboxed.
Thanks for your interest
Respectfully

Installed AB for IE version 1.2 (https://adblockplus.org/en/internet-explorer). No problem both unsandboxed IE11 and sandboxed IE11 (W7 64 bits/Sandboxie beta 4.13.4). Had to activate AB in IE11 after install though, add on was dectivated by default.

Thanks for the update and interest in my Topic
I'm still facing the stuttering busy pointer and ads are not blocked sandboxed.
IE9 Vista32
Any suggestions for me to try....

Maybe allow dllhost.exe to start/run inside sandbox and see if this helps. With your specific settings I get loads of warnings (causing the stuttering?). See picture.

I've added the following to Internet Access and Start Run with same issue.
Ads not blocked and busy pointer.
iexplore.exe
adblockplusengine.exe
adbloc~1.exe
rundll32.exe
