Hi,
Tried to run Acrobat Pro 9.0 - i.e. NOT Acrobat Reader - in Sandboxie and got this error:
SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001 - Acrobat.exe [C0000024]
Acrobat Reader XI runs in Sandboxie just fine, I have it forced.
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, Sandboxie 4.20 paid version, Acrobat Pro 9.0 - runs with the error, Acrobat Reader XI - runs fine.
BTW, it doesn't seem to be possible to right-click on it in the Start Menu in order to launch Acrobat in Sandboxie. The "Run Sandboxed" menu item doesn't show in this case. So I tried to go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe" and right-click on the exe file itself. That does display the "Run Sandboxed" option, but throws the above error.
Any ideas?

I am not familiar with Acrobat. I havent used Adobe for a very vey long time. But if Acrobat 9 runs fine despite you getting the error message, then you can ignore it and Hide it. I have one program for which I hide a similar SBIE 2203 message. All is well.majokey wrote: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, Sandboxie 4.20 paid version, Acrobat Pro 9.0 - runs with the error, Acrobat Reader XI - runs fine.

Hopefully, you can just ignore the message and go about using it like Bo suggested. I haven't used Pro in a long while either.bo.elam wrote:I am not familiar with Acrobat. I do believe you cannot "right" click on the start menu link and select "run sandboxed" it has to be on the desktop or from within the file path like you did.
Re: Acrobat Pro 9.0 - SBIE2203
Try running the program sandboxed from within its folder in Start menu.majokey wrote: BTW, it doesn't seem to be possible to right-click on it in the Start Menu in order to launch Acrobat in Sandboxie.

@ Craig: OK, will try to just hide the error, roll on and see what happens.
@ Bo: Just btw, at least on my Windows, none of the Adobe programs created a folder upon installation. The Reader, the Pro, Distiller...the whole lot appear as individual programs placed directly in Start > Programs. No folder. No proper target under properties either. And no path all the way to the executable either under Properties > General > Location. And Sandboxie don't show upon right-click. Probably part of Adobe tradition to do everything as weirdly and in a non-standard way as possible.

Re: Acrobat Pro 9.0 - SBIE2203
majokey, your can solve not being able to right click Acrobat to run it sandboxed from start menu by creating a sandboxed shortcut for Acrobat and after creating the shortcut, pin it to Start menu. Doing this would make things even easier for you to run Acrobat sandboxed as you will be able to get that done with one click instead of the whole process you go through when you right click a program and choose run sandboxed.
I suggest you create a new sandbox and name it Acrobat, Go to Configure>Windows shell integration, Click Add shortcut icons, select the Acrobat sandbox, find Acrobat in one of the menus and click it. After you click on Acrobat, you ll see the Sandboxed shortcut in your Desktop. Pin the shortcut to Start menu.
