Firefox and double click [SOLVED]
Running SB 5.06 on Win 7 64 bit - after updating my Firefox to the lastest version I am having a problem opening the program.
I have sb configured to automatically sandbox browsers including firefox via forced programs. Now when I doubleclick FF icon in the task bar or start bar I am getting the error "could not find the mozilla runtime", however if I access Firefox via the start bar/ all programs and rightclick the icon and then click run sandboxed, FF will open as expected.
How can I get this back to the way it was, ie any doubleclick on icon or shortcut opens FF sandboxed. While I can find my way to running the browser, trying to explain this procedure to my partner would get me into deep trouble.

mouse, that can happen after updating the browser if you don't delete the sandbox.mouse wrote:after updating my Firefox to the lastest version I am having a problem opening the program.

Re: Firefox and double click
Bo, thanks. My sandboxes are set up to automatically delete upon cleasing, though I noticed that sometimes that may not happen.
I am not sure what the status was for the sandbox on this pc but it's now empty. How would I fix this now, so that a simple double click works again?

Re: Firefox and double click
Confirm that FF did indeed update by running Firefox (not sandbox, and have it check for updates.)mouse wrote:Bo, thanks. My sandboxes are set up to automatically delete upon cleasing, though I noticed that sometimes that may not happen.

If it does update, will will ask you to restart FF to apply the change. Go ahead and do that (outside the sandbox)
After that, test FF in a sandbox. By either right clicking and selecting run as sandboxed or have FF as your default browser in Windows and double clicking on the "run browser sandboxed" icon.
While it's ok to update your browser while in a sandbox, you should update it outside the sandbox to avoid any problems. It's quick, and you know for sure its update and the settings have been applied. SBIE sandboxes are temporary spaces. I see you have SBIE to auto delete sandboxes when emptying. That's normally works just fine, but if a program doesn't completely end (it should when this is invoked) you may wind up with some sparse data in there that will indeed cause similar problems, so it's good to do a manual deletion once in a while to be certain.
Re: Firefox and double click
Craig, sorry but I think there is a misunderstanding.
I always update FF outside SB and as usual a restart of FF was required. I just checked and it's running vers 43.0.4 with no update available.

This happens to me after the FF update too. Reboot your computer. That solves the problem for me.mouse wrote:Running SB 5.06 on Win 7 64 bit - after updating my Firefox to the lastest version I am having a problem opening the program.

Re: Firefox and double click
That's it - worked this morning after reboot. Did not think about testing this yesterday - thanks for the tip.
