Windows SteadyState, PC Safeguard Feature Requests

Post by 923371 » Sun Mar 28, 2010 8:00 am

when I am using programs(E,g firefox, video streaming, Jdownloader) that installed inside the sanboxie, When I running these programs I found that the sanboxie was filled with downloaded files.

because the sanboxie was filled with downloaded files it will cause the sanbox size grow very big and slow down my computer , So by solve these problems I have to remove all the files and reinstall all the programs again.

can we have a Feature to keep/back up/recover the sandbox State?

I've never done it, but once you have a sandbox that is setup the way you want it, you can make a copy of the sandbox folder (zip it) and store it somewhere.
Then when you want to, you can delete the one that has been used and copy the saved sandbox folder back where it was.
So if you have a sandbox called SavedBox at C:\Sandbox\(user)\SavedBox, zip a copy of the SavedBox folder and save it somewhere.

As someone asks this question about once a week, I wish it would have been made a sticky. Here's the unofficial snapshot feature: http://sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=19196#19196

Seems to me, this quote is the basis of your feature request. But I don't understand at all why some large downloads in the sandbox should have any impact on your computer. Stuff that slow Windows down over time is software installation, registry expansion, and other causes, but a bunch of files on the disk, that is not one of those causes.

There is no need to delete downloaded files, it won't make your computer faster.

well this is a very good idea for backup a saved box(why I can't think of that )

but don't you think is better to keep the saved box in a State, so you don't have to wast your times to recover/backup the SavedBox.
