Sandboxie and Wikipedia

Post by Unknown_User_854 » Thu Jul 05, 2007 1:24 am

Hello !

We wrote a description of Sandboxie for Wikipedia :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandboxie (english version)

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandboxie (spanish version)

We would like you to have a look for it, and check if everything is correct, according to you.

That almost a good new.

However, we have a problem with a little group of french admins, that refuses to recognize that Sandboxie is known enought to be published in Wikipedia.
Also, our french version of our contribution were systematicly reverted.
We fight a lot to obtain a restauration of it
but it 's now against the "definitive" suppression we had to do something quickly.

If you have time to go on that page and give your approbation to Sandboxie, it would be nice to you and should be the last chance for Sandboxie to be respected in french Wikipedia.
We have just a few days now, be numerous.

For those who want to know how that french group of admins are dishonest persons (and discredit Wikipedia with power abuses) see also that french page : it's very clear (but in french ^^)

We are not against a little help ^^"!
Thanks.

bye :).

Hey, thanks! Real nice to see my name on Wikipedia. :D
If you have time to go on that page and give your approbation to Sandboxie, it would be nice to you and should be the last chance for Sandboxie to be respected in french Wikipedia.
That page is in French, I have no idea what the pages says or what to contribute. Is there anything in particular you want me to do there?

noisette,

Typo error in the following sentence, should be "which" instead.

"Any new files or changes wich are to be kept should be registered outside the sandbox after having checked their validity."

(i change the link for this one : http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A ... /Sandboxie )

yes

just give a positive vote for not delete the contribution about Sandboxie ;).

It seems that a little group of admin try to block it, but we don't understand why...
they are using and abusing of their power, we can just actually give the maximum of positive votes.
If it's not enough, the french contribution will be delete.
Incredible.

Thank a lot for your software, we are very charmed ^^.

Neutrality and notability are some of the most important criteria in cases like this. Find reviews of Sandboxie from independent sources and link to them in your Wikipedia article.

That'll probably help you more than a comment or vote by tzuk, who cannot exactly be called neutral when it comes to Sandboxie. For a start you could just copy over the links at the bottom of the English and Spanish versions.

Links were given, unfortunatly...
we think wa have given the necessary, we took time to explain, inform etc
but no effect on the nature of the "conflict" that we ignore the cause.

It's possible that a solution can come from a ask of translation in french of our english translation ^^.

We are dismayed, but it's also a little funny because completely mad .

thanks :)

If links to French texts help, there is this (somewhat out-dated) French manual for Sandboxie:

http://babin.nelly.free.fr/sandboxie.htm

And if you still want me to vote on anything, you're going to have to tell me exactly how to do that in Wikipedia.

I have made some small spelling and punctuation corrections to the page.

I haven't used Wikipedia before, but if I understand correctly, we are being asked to use the "Discussion" page to give our opinion of the Sandboxie program: approbation= approval, praise, admiration, good opinion,...

It's exactly that ;).

They pretend Sandboxie is not known enough to be published in Wikipedia ...

and think that the page in which we can vote is not read : they think they will be alone to vote, and that they could delete the article with clean hands.
I just imagine that we could vote as in mass as possible, to make a surprise ^^.

Hum.

Thank you very much for the corrections you added to the contribution, an english one is finally the best start.

:)

Thanks SnDPhoenix, but you said there Sandboxie is freeware and that is misleading. Sandboxie is shareware. Just because it does not stop working if you don't register, does not mean this is not shareware.
