How can I make screen shots in a sandbox and paste them outside of the sandbox [SOLVED]

I was trying to make a tutorial and tried to use the Prtsc/Sysrq key to make a screen capture, and then tried to paste it into Irfanview and MS Word, but could not paste it (The paste function was grayed out).
I know I can do it by running Irfanview or MS Word sandboxed, but is there another (faster) way?

I tested the behavior on Windows 10 x64. I launched Firefox inside Sandboxie (tested both normal and full screen), then hit the"PrtSc" key, launched word outside Sandboxie and pasted the screenshot without issues.

Can you provide more information regarding what are you trying to capture?

Hi Barb,
I was trying to both capture whole screens and certain areas, the latter by using Windows 7 snipping tool. I was also trying to capture dropdown menus in the browser (Firefox 54.0.1)
If I press PrtSc in a sandboxed browser tab and then try to paste the image into an unsandboxed Irfanview or Word I cannot. I can copy/paste text into an unsandboxed Word and if I copy text and paste it into an unsandboxed Irfanview it appears as an image, but I cannot capture a whole sandboxed window and paste it into an unsandboxed program. I have tried two sandboxes.

As best I can recall it used to work OK, but not now. I've looked in the Sandboxie settings to see if anything relevant is blocked, but do not see Irfanview, bur after I added Irfanview as a forced program, I can use Prtsc no problem.
If you know what' might be blocking the function, I would like to know, but since I have a viable work-around, I am satisfied.

I re-tested the behavior on Windows 7x86, I also tested IrfanView. I did not experience any issues pasting the screenshots to either program (Word or Irfanview).

Also, see if a new Sandbox with default settings produces different results.
You can try disabling your antivirus protection for testing purposes as well.

I may have found the culprit - Roboform 8.3.7.7. When I log off Roboform I can use Prtsc and paste into either an unsandboxed or sandboxed Irfanview and Word.

Sounds like all you have to do is empty your sandboxes. There might be old files that need to be cleaned up.

No luck. Deleted contents of default sandbox, disabled all add-ons, restarted Firefox but the problem persisted, Logging out of Roboform did not help this time. Did same in another sandbox with same results.
If I open Irfanview sandboxed, I can do the paste, and after I do the paste in a sandboxed Irfanview, I can copy the image in Irfanview and paste it into an unsandboxed Irfanview or unsandboxed Word.
Anyway, now that I have work arounds, I can finish my tasks, and if anyone comes up with a solution, I will be interested in reading them. Thanks for your assistance.

Please post your configuration file so we can see what's the difference between your previous Sandboxes and the new ones (which, you stated before do work, right?)

Open Sandboxie Control --> Configure ---> Edit configuration
Copy and paste the contents here.
Use the </> button to format it.

Aside from "OpenIpcPath=\Windows\SharedSection" I do not see anything out of the ordinary in your Sandboxes. I even added it to a test box and did not see any difference. You can try commenting that entry and see if that helps.

When you do a snipping capture using snipping tool, do you see the image in the Snipping program? If so, at that point it is on your host, not Sandboxie, so it should paste fine. Otherwise, you may have some issue on your host machine.

Any chance your PrtSc key is being used by a different program as a hot key?
Also, instead of using the mouse to paste, can you "ctrl V" to paste the image?

Firefox does not seem to be affected, but again I cannot paste into an unsandboxed (e.g., MSWORD, IRFANVIEW) program unless I use the snipping program.

Hello howiem,

There is a mention of a Firefox crash, but then you state Firefox does not seem to be affected. If the error messages do not prevent you from working, you can use the "Hide" option so you will not see them again. Otherwise, please re-add it to Sandboxie to avoid the issue.
It may triggered by a security application, or toolbar / extension.

Regarding the screenshots,If other Sandboxes work, you may want to try deleting the contents of your offending Sandbox, or just go ahead and create a New Sandbox with your current settings and see if that alleviates the issue.
