How to erase just one software in a single sandbox ?

Post by Palemoon » Mon Aug 29, 2016 9:41 pm

Hi!

I have 3 softwares in the same sandbox ( I have the free version ) But I want to delete only one software with all their files but i want to keep at the sametime the 2 others software!

is it possible?

Of course i can delete all the files in the sandbox and restart again with a new one with the two software i want to have but i don't like it because i have to re-configure all the settings and preferences of these software!

any tips?

Thank's!

Well...i'm not smart sometimes! i just use the unistall.exe of the application to delete them from the sandbox!

But it still have some files remaining so i clicked "Cut" from that folder and paste it on another folder outside the sandbox and finally deleted them all!

Palemoon, in the future, if the programs you install sandboxed don't need to interact with each other, you could install programs in their own separate sandbox. That would work better for you when its time to get rid of the sandboxed program. In case you didn't know, you can create and use more than one sanbdbox with the free version, you just cant use more than one at a time.

Wow! Thank you very much "bo.elam"! i didn't know that!

:D

The home page of Sandboxie is confusing! There is no mention about a free version! It's "Buy now" "Buy now" and Buy!

Yes, there are lots of things that can be done with the free version, that go unnoticed or ignored by most users of the free version. I can also tell you that with the paid version, you bring Sandboxie to a higher level. Things like being able to have two three programs running in their own separate sandbox at the same time or having files run sandboxed automatically without having to think when you click them is how you get the most out of Sandboxie. And that's what we get with the paid version. The free version is the first step. :)

The paid version is well worth the investment

Palemoon, I do a lot of streaming from sports sites. The perfect companion for the sandboxed Firefox are NoScript and Adblock plus. Maybe you are using those programs, I don't know, but I tell you with this addons you completely tame sites like the sport sites. They become completely harmless and easy to use. I know NoScript works in Palemoon and there is an ABP fork for Palemoon.

Yes it's very useful but a lot of websites owners need advertising revenue to survive so i tried to not use Adblock, but...There's always a "but" somewhere! On too many sites, the invasion of pop-up windows and heavily animated ads are very annoying, sometimes that made my CPU rise too much so when those sites go to far on that i don't have the choice to use it!

So your are right for those sports streaming sites, adblock is a must! i want to encourage them but too much is like not enough...Sometimes when i finnished to watch a sports event i disable Adblock and i click on a few popup to encourage them...i dont care my browser is in Sandboxie! i delete everything after that!

But i don't know if "No Script" affect owners websites?

I dont know how NoScript affects owners of website but I can tell you, even though NoScript is not an adblocker, if you only (by white listing or temporarily allowing) allow the domains that are required to watch the sport events to load scripts, almost 100% of all ads are blocked. I tested in some really nasty sites with all kind of ads without an adblocker and NoScript gets rid of basically all.
