Chrome suddenly stopped working in sandboxie

Yesterday chrome suddenly stopped working in sandboxie. It will not load any websites.

It's really annoying to use another browser just to keep it sandboxed

Did you update Sandboxie to the latest (4.14) version? If yes, try disabling the Drop Rights feature and Chrome should work under Sandboxie again.

already did that with no effect

Both on a Windows 8 & Windows 7 PC in our home Chrome stopped working after Windows Updates were installed. Chrome works when not sandboxed.

I think it is the latest update to Chrome that broke Sandboxie.

I restored my system to a previous date, and Chrome started working in Sandboxie again, until I allowed Chrome to re-update itself, and then it broke.

Firefox isn't working as well.

I'm typing this in Chrome 38.0.2125.104 m, Win 7-64 with all updates. No problems at all.

I used an older version of chrome portable and worked

version Version 37.0.2062.124 easy to find the download


I use these web browser and both are working with SandBoxie

We are unable to repeat any problems with Chrome 38 or 39 in Win 7 32/64 or Win 8-64, with all updates. Most users are running Chrome without any issues. Several users here are even running with dropped rights.

Has everyone tried deleting their sandboxes and/or completely reinstalling Sbie 4.14?

Hello Curt,

Chrome: Version 38.0.2125.104 m

Sandboxie: 4.14 64-bit

I created a new sandboxie and copied the settings from an existing sandboxie where the Chrome failed to operate properly after update. Now Chrome seems to be working fine within the new sandboxie.
