WAS "Save Data from Firefox Add-Ons Outside Default San

Post by jclarkw » Wed Apr 03, 2013 6:03 pm

Over the last couple months both Sandboxie and FireFox have been updated (now at 3.76 and 19.02, respectively, under Windows XP SP3), and I'm finding that some of my "protected" data no longer carries over from session to session -- see "http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopi ... ht=jclarkw" for a previous discussion that solved this problem for a long time. In particular, although I often change the magnification for a particular page in NoSquint 2.1.5, it now appears that this changes the mag. for ALL pages, not just the one in question, and the new settings certainly don't carry over to the next session.

Has anything changed regarding the storage of certain data outside the sandbox. Or perhaps this is a problem with NoSquint itslef? Any suggestions would be appreciated! -- jclarkw

I can't test the exact program versions you listed.
My setup: Firefox 20, NoSquint 2.1.7, Sandboxie 4.01.04, XP
There shouldn't be any difference in the end results with your program versions, except possibly with NoSquint itself.

If you updated NoSquint, does it still remember the Options you had set for that extension?:
Firefox: Tools > Add-ons > Extensions > NoSquint > Options > General tab
----
Using the latest NoSquint, I had no problems with sandboxed Firefox remembering settings for sites.

In Sandbox Settings, I allowed firefox.exe to save "*\prefs.js" outside of the sandbox.
Ran Firefox sandboxed:
- Set mozilla.org sites to 100%
- Set sandboxie.com sites to 90%
- Left all other sites at a Global Setting of 120%

Exited Firefox and used "Delete Contents" for the sandbox

Ran Firefox sandboxed again, and verified that the above settings had been remembered.

Ops. -- Since I posted the above, the problem has magically (as in, I didn't do anything that I know of) disappeared! Probably wasn't a Sandboxie problem anyhow... Sorry to waste your time. -- jcalrkw
