Sandboxie will not work on a Dell Venue 8 Pro

Post by Chrisrobin » Fri Nov 29, 2013 5:24 pm

I have tried multiple times to install and run version 4.06 on my Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet running Window 8.1 32 bit. It appears to install OK but trying to run it I get a "fail to initialize" error among other things. The virus protection was uninstalled before installation of Sandboxie.

There's another thread which stated that this seemed to be a tablet issue. I read in another thread it had to do with a Windows update, so this may be related to an updated related to tablets. Just my 2 cents.

Pls keep this post alive as many have reported the same problem. SB will not run on Dell Venue 8 Pro. It is Christmas Day 2013. Merry Christmas. It is running Windows 8.1 and I am using the latest (as of this day) SB 4.06

I am having the same issue with a Venue 8 Pro tablet that I received for Christmas. Works fine on my 8.1 desktop, but does not work on the tablet. Get the same error message SBIE2336 Error in GUI server: (11/C0000021) then SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process start.exe (88/0) then SBIE2337 Failed to start program: (55/1067) Any help would be great.

Thanks

Please try the Window Access * workaround to see if it fixes the problem.

To enable:

Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > Window Access > Click Add, enter * (a single wildcard star), click OK.

Setting * in Windows section works.

This is the resource monitor log:

OK, but keep in mind that this gives up some measure of security, if you also have UAC turn off.

As long as you have UAC turned on, which is the default setting in Windows, you are losing very minimal security.

but I wonder if there will be update for this?

my miix2 8 met the same problem.

And added * to windows access, these errors did disappeared.

but I wonder if there will be formal update or fix for this? I mean a newer version.
