Webroot SecureAnywhere
Webroot SecureAnywhere
Hi!
I don't know the Webroot SecureAnywhere software. Is it any good?
I love Sandboxie as a home user but will be trying to get it into the business environment as there is a possible chance coming up. They are using the Webroot SecureAnywhere at the moment.
I would like to convince them to go to Sandboxie instead. Could someone who knows both programs give me a little info on why Sandboxie is better etc.?
Thanx!

Re: Webroot SecureAnywhere
No one on the forum uses Webroot? Well, that also tells something. But if someone does, please drop a few lines regarding your point of view on it (and also Webroot VS Sandboxie). Thank you.
Re: Webroot SecureAnywhere
I use Webroot's antivirus on my XP rig alongside Sandboxie and Online Armor. I find that the three work together very well in my experience.Bellzemos wrote:No one on the forum uses Webroot? I can't comment on any other Webroot offerings as I receive the AV as an annual complimentary subscription via a financial institution.

Thank you for your input, maybe someone else will have something to add.
Realtime protection that I use: Sandboxie (Lifetime) and Avast Free. And on demand: MBAM Free & Macrium Reflect Free. Why would you buy MBAM Pro if you only use it on demand?

Re: Webroot SecureAnywhere
I have owned MBAM Pro for several years. I no longer feel it is necessary with my current setup. In fact, I haven't run it in quite some time now, (though I have the definitions updated in the background).Bellzemos wrote:Why would you buy MBAM Pro if you only use it on demand?
My preference is to keep things as simple as possible with as little overlap and resource usage as can be achieved while still providing adequate security. (Since I no longer use XP for sensitive tasks, such as financial transactions, I am not inclined to overdo it.)

Re: Webroot SecureAnywhere
I have used Webroot along with Sandboxie on several systems. XP, Win 7, and now Win 8.1 with only a few very short lived problems.
Your statement, "I would like to convince them to go to Sandboxie instead" confuses me. One allows a programs to run in a sandboxed environment and one is an Anti-Virus.

Re: Webroot SecureAnywhere
I mean as a paid solution. I'd rather have paid Sandboxie + free AV. This is an old thread though and the company in question doesn't deal with Webroot anymore.
