Bitcoin: protect your wallet

Post by Ruhe » Mon Dec 12, 2011 1:03 pm

If you use Bitcoins and the Bitcoin client:

By extending the [GlobalSettings] section of your sandboxie.ini with

Code: Select all

ClosedFilePath=%AppData%\Bitcoin\
you block read and write access to your complete Bitcoin wallet folder for all sandboxed programs.

Last time I looked looked there is also the option to encrypt the wallet too.
One Program to rule them all, One Program to confine them, One Program to wrest them all and in the sandbox bind them.

That's right. You can password-protect the wallet within the Bitcoin client.

And never forget: make regular backups of the wallet ("wallet.dat"). Best the complete folder (%AppData%\Bitcoin\)
