Sandboxie and some programs

Post by Aya_Tachibana » Wed Sep 24, 2014 1:28 pm

Hello everyone!

I started using Sandboxie yesterday, because some people reccomended it.

But, before start to really use it, I have some questions:

- I'm using Avast free anti-virus (with real time protection) and Malwarebytes Anti-exploit Free and 3 Google Chrome extensions (Adblock, Avast Online Security and WOT), is there any compatibility problems with those programs? (Now, I would like to use Sandboxie with Google Chrome)

- Let's say that I need to run some anti-virus and anti-malware scans on my PC, if I delete the contents from Sandboxie and close the program, the scan will run normaly?

Thank you guys for the helping me.

Aya_Tachibana, read this frequently asked questions about Sandboxie and malware. But in short, you can use your antivirus as you do when you don't use Sandboxie. Sandboxie does not interfere with the antivirus.

http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?FAQ_Virus

About whether Avast, Chrome, the extensions and the rest of security programs that you are using being compatible with Sandboxie in your system, the only way to know is to use Sandboxie and see what happens.

Let me give you an example. Right this moment there are people using SBIE who are also using Chrome that are having problems. But myself, not a Chrome user, tested Chrome in my XP and W7 and it ran great, I did not experience any kind of issue. So, run Chrome and see what happens. If you experience an issue, if you get a message from Sandboxie, post it here.

Using Sandboxie is smart. Happy surfing.

Hello.

Looks like that Google Chrome runs a little slower than the normal (not much, but noticeable).

Is that normal?

Aya, I am not a Chrome user. But when I tested Chrome 37 a few days ago, I did not experience any issue. In fact, I was surprised of how well all felt. But I don't use anything like an antivirus so if you are running something like that real time, perhaps your browsing has slowed down a little since now, the AV is scanning Sandboxie in addition to Chrome.
