Hi all,
I am new here and I'd have a few questions.Sorry if they're a bit dumb but please bear with me lol.
Ok, here goes it...
It is my understanding that you can install a program sand boxed so that if you don't like it you delete the contents of the sandbox and the prog will be gone for good.
Now, say I want to trial a registry cleaner software.I download it and install it in the sandbox.I run the proggie and it "cleans" the registry. Now, say the program deleted registry keys it shouldn't have deleted and the OS becomes unstable....
My question is: by deleting the contents of the sandbox do I just remove the program or will sandboxie also undo the damage the reg cleaner has caused ?
Thanks a bunch in advance
newb here.please help
As long as the program is running inside a sandbox, any registry changes it makes will be trapped in the sandbox and not be permanent.
You can run a program in a sandbox regardless of whether it is installed outside Sandoxie or inside Sandboxie.
The main thing is to be sure it is running inside Sandboxie by look for the double [#] indicators in the title bar of the program. Otherwise, the changes it makes will probably not be trapped. (There are some cases where a program might be running under Sandboxie control but where the [#] indicators do not show, but I always assume a program is running in the open unless I see those indicators.)
