Block access to sandbox registry key

Post by jahamaville » Sun Nov 23, 2008 1:45 am

Following up on my post here:
http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=28611

The registry key that Sandboxie creates is infinite in depth and can cause problems with some programs. I'd like to request a fix or workaround for this problem.

In other words... you must do the workaround in your program, not Sandboxie.

Surely it's not impossible for the developers of Sandboxie to make a fix for this problem...

Sorry, but the program offers no workaround. It indexes the entire registry, and there are no options for excluding registry keys.

Perhaps not impossible but also not a high priority. I agree it should be fixed, but if you need immediate resolution, you would have to find a way to exclude this subtree from the registry scan. If your particular program doesn't have that, perhaps you could consider an alternative.

I'm not expecting an immediate fix. After learning that it's currently impossible to work around the problem, I posted again in this forum so that it may be fixed in a future release.
