Question about sandbox's and virus's

Post by Ominous » Mon May 21, 2012 10:31 pm

Basically my set up right now is I have one sandbox to browse the internet via firefox(I delete this sandbox approximately every other day)

and another to do banking and make purchases online(I delete before every use)

So what I was thinking is if I get a virus from browsing firefox and don't delete the default sandbox before
going and using my banking sandbox could the virus infect and or harm my banking SB or would it still be secure?

I've googled and searched this forum but I can't find anything that really answers my question any and all help is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

tl:dr If I get a virus in one sandbox could it affect other sandboxs.

Read this page, specially at the end where it reads "Note that if you don't like........for maximum protection." It relates to your question.

Tzuk already responded this the best:

"There are plenty of software that are designed to protect your information when you access to bank website that you already trust.
That software says "if you trust the web site but don't trust your computer to be virus-free, then use me."
So use one such software when you browse to the bank web site.

Sandboxie is designed to protect your computer when you access websites that you don't trust.
Sandboxie says "if you know your computer is virus-free and you want to keep it that way, then use me."
So use Sandboxie when you browse to other web sites that you don't trust."

So you have to be 100% sure that your computer is 100% malware-free in the first place, if you want complete protection from properly configured Sandboxie.

Well I know this question has already been answered but Ive been using this freeware antikeylogger called Zemana for last two days and no problems so far. So maybe you'll like it to.
Here's a tutorial/review video for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlFMZEwAjNY

And the website: http://www.zemana.com/

please check compatibility here: http://www.zemana.com/product/antilogge ... patibility

Note: It works just fine with most programs but you should still check the compatibility just in case. :)
