Chrome on host and sandboxed [SOLVED]

Post by JohnBox » Sat Mar 25, 2017 8:28 am

Since this advice

http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 30#p125023

lead to either Chrome constantly crashing or frequent BSOD of the OS I am now opting to install Chrome on the host directly and run it sandboxed like suggested here.

http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 30#p125656

Now I have Chrome Version 57.0.2987.110 (64-bit) installed and it runs fine outside SBIE, however I cannot seem to access any website when running it inside SBIE, always tells me it cannot connect.

Here my Chrome SBIE settings:

Code: Select all

[ChromeInstalled]

Enabled=y
ConfigLevel=7
Template=Chrome_Preferences_DirectAccess
Template=WindowsFontCache
Template=BlockPorts
Template=LingerPrograms
Template=Firefox_Phishing_DirectAccess
Template=AutoRecoverIgnore
BorderColor=#808000
NeverDelete=n
BoxNameTitle=n
LingerProcess=SandboxieBITS.exe
AutoRecover=y
LeaderProcess=chrome.exe
OpenPipePath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\

Did empty the sandbox and left Chrome installed on host as it was.

Then re-ran Chrome inside sandbox and now it works.

Now it also works quite fast as expected from Chrome, even in SBIE.

Guess it is better to have the stuff on the HDD and then run it sandboxed from there as opposed to having it in SBIE and then running it inside there.
