Can someone explain how I download a program in Sandboxie AND run the program sandboxed so I can see how it works before actually installing it? Thanks

Save As the program into your My Document folder. (That would be the sandboxed folder.)

Right-click the Sandboxie icon in the lower right corner of your screen, and select Run Sandboxed -> Any Program

Type . (a single dot) to bring up the Sandboxie Explorer, then navigate it to your My Documents folder. Find your program and double-click it to launch it.

Now you should be installing it into the sandbox.

Finally, right-click the Sandboxie icon again and select Run Sandboxed -> From Start Menu, find the installed program in the menu, run it, use it, test it.

Suppose you like it: Right-click the Sandboxie icon and select Contents of Sandbox -> Recover Files. By default, Sandboxie will list files in the sandboxed My Documents folder. So you should see your new program file listed.

Select the program file and then click the button to Recovery to Any Folder. Then select a target folder (outside the sandbox), and Sandboxie will move your program file there.

Humm .. but I have some windows self installer applications already downloaded to be tested. I suppose that, by choosing to run them with "Run Sandboxed - Any Program" I'll get the same outcome, correct? Or should I use the option "Run Sandboxed - Windows Installer Service"?
