Problem with Version 3.0
Hi Tzuk
I installed the new version yesterday, overwriting 2.86, everything went smooth as alaways in the past. But today I got a very annoying Problem, several (aprox. 30-40!) error windows popped up saying: "SBIE2230 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: null reply"
I was looking in the FAQ where it says this: "SBIE2203 Failed to xxxx Sandboxie Service
This error indicates that facilities provided by the Sandboxie service (SbieSvc) are not available. Make sure the service is started."
But the Service is RUNNING! So what else coud it be? I'm using SB for min. 2 years now, never had any Problem like this before.
Hope you can help.
PS: Don't know how to include an image here...

Re: Problem with Version 3.0
Try WinPatrol and delay the start by 1 minute or so. It worked for me.Arturoâ„¢ wrote:Hi Tzuk

Silver0066, your suggestion is nice but irrelevant here. Arturo, can you find a repeatable action that you do (like a particular web site that you visit sandboxed, or a particular program that you run sandboxed) which causes this error? I'm going to have to be able to reproduce the error for myself, if I am to fix it.
By the way, I deleted your signature. Did you come here to report a problem with Sandboxie and maybe get a solution, or did you come here to advertise your many sites? Right.

THANX for that! Of course I came here to advertise my sites, what else?tzuk wrote:By the way, I deleted your signature. Did you come here to report a problem with Sandboxie and maybe get a solution, or did you come here to advertise your many sites? Right.
Since you're asking this stupid question & exercising Censorship, I assume You did NOT take a look at the screenshots I put online, right Buddy? Of course you didn't as the download count shows! So maybe you should have a look:
1) http://www.divshare.com/download/1236234-8c3
2) http://www.divshare.com/download/1236240-2ff
Now you are free to delete my entire Account too, I'm for sure not comming back here anymore
You quoted the exact error message here, and as the person who wrote the text you're quoting I didn't feel it was necessary for me to look at the screenshot.
On another note, I don't see why you should be offended that I removed your sig. It's my site, I pay for it, and you can't come and advertise here, without even asking for permission to do so.

Use WinPatrol to delay the start of Control.exe on boot. As reported here by others, this did the trick.Arturoâ„¢ wrote:What is Winpatrol (some URL maybe?) & delay the Start of WHAT? Of the SB-Control (Service?)? As the error occured yesterady, the Service was running already for several Hours!

I do not have any sites. I am a home user and computer hobbyist. WinPatrol worked for me and I was trying to help others.tzuk wrote:Silver0066, your suggestion is nice but irrelevant here. My suggestion is NOT irrelevant as others, if you will look at the threads, have found it useful.
You are out of line with your accusations. Aren't you getting a little paranoid?
Maybe if you could somehow delay the start of Control.exe at boot time, the problem would go away.
Silver, you don't have any advertisement for other sites listed in your signature. I really don't see why you would assume that had anything to do with you.
Now, I appreciate you found a solution to your problem with Control, and that you make it known to everyone, but do you now expect this to be the solution to every problem in Sandboxie? I said your solution may not be relevant here. No need to get offended.

Because you included my name in your post!! I did not expect it to fix every problem as you seem to think. Only the ones that I commented on.tzuk wrote:Silver, you don't have any advertisement for other sites listed in your signature. If you are so concerned, another FREE program that would allow delay of Control.exe at boot is posted here:

wow, what a crock of s^$%, ill clear this up.
Hey pal, this has nothing to do with censorship, idiot, it has to do with advertising multiple sites (also know as spamming) tzuk pays for this site so if he dont want ppl advertising other sites on his own site, then he's free to remove the adevertising, if you dont like that, tough, if you want to run off, fine, nobody ask you to come here.THANX for that! Of course I came here to advertise my sites, what else?

We know you dont have any sites, did you really think that was directed at you, it is so obvious that it was directed at Arturo, that even Arturo himself knew that was directed towards himself.I do not have any sites. He never said it wasnt useful or that it didnt work, he said that it was irrelevant, and it is irrelevant, for example, lets say i was having the problem you were having, and i could easily fix it by installing WinPatrol. Heres the problem though, i will NOT install WinPatrol, because it is another piece of security software which will only take up time, space and maybe cause conflicts with other programs, and i dont need that, i use ONLY sandboxie and i will not install another security program, now maybe it worked for you and others, thats fine, but not everyone with a sandboxie problem is going to install 3rd party software to fix the problem just cause you were willing to, so in the end this would be.... whats the word im looking for... oh yeah, irrelevant! My suggestion is NOT irrelevant as others, if you will look at the threads, have found it useful.
tzuk never made any accusations, but heres the funny thing, YOU just did, by saying that tzuk is being paranoid. You are out of line with your accusations. Aren't you getting a little paranoid?

It was NOT irrelevant, it just did not suit your particular needs. Just because you think that WinPatrol is bloated and conficting does not make you right. Check it out, it is more than security software and you might find it useful. Maybe you use ONLY sandboxie, but many others have a layered approach.SnDPhoenix wrote: He never said it wasnt useful or that it didnt work, he said that it was irrelevant, and it is irrelevant, for example, lets say i was having the problem you were having, and i could easily fix it by installing WinPatrol. You are right. I should not have said that. I was out of line and I apologize for my sarcasm.SnDPhoenix wrote: tzuk never made any accusations, but heres the funny thing, YOU just did, by saying that tzuk is being paranoid.

I have used Winpatrol and tons of other security programs in the past (before i had sbie) i also used those security apps in conjunction with sbie (a.k.a i was using a layered approach too) when i first discovered sandboxie and saw all the conflicts that can arise (yes even with Winpatrol). Also i didnt say it was "bloated and conflicting" i just said it takes up space (just like everything does, even notepad) and that it could cause conflicts with sandboxie (just as any program could with sandboxie, just look at all the program conflicts in the forum). Bah, what am i even "defending" myself for, my opinion is just as good as yours and vice versa, if you dont like it tough.Silver0066 wrote: It was NOT irrelevant, it just did not suit your particular needs.
