Re: 4.09 Beta Available (Latest Version 4.09.1)
+1 on separate 32- and 64-bit installers like tzuk had. :-) Although not a huge deal as long as they're still available for final releases...
I noticed my returning-FALSE-from-DllMain Permanent DEP DLL (http://voidmain.realplain.com) now works like 3.76 again! :D I was asking about that last year, and just scrapped v4 InjectDll compatibility after what tzuk said about why FALSE was treated as a failure, like a static import (http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 633#p89633). Although looking at my notes there, returning FALSE did work before 4.01.05 in my case as long as there was an export table (even if empty) although the DLL wasn't unloaded like 3.76 and once again now.
So it looks like me and Buster are happy about that change. 8-)
Color me impressed! Now if a few other things were also taken care of, I'd be ec-statically (no pun intended) impressed!
P.S. WHY are BBCode and smilies off??

For what it's worth,
you're calling this
4.09.1 (SandboxieInstall-409-01.exe)
but the installation screens and the Help --> About screen show
4.09
Not sure if this is an oops or by design, just wanted to let you know.

I'll be sure to put out the 32 & 64 installers and change the version # to 4.09.02 on the next beta release.
Re: 4.09 Beta Available (Latest Version 4.09.1)
Many thanks for that.Curt@invincea wrote: I'll be sure to put out the 32 & 64 installers and ...

Good job! I just updated from Sandboxie v4.08 to v4.09 (beta) on both machines of mine (32-bit WinXP SP3 desktop & 64-bit Win7 SP1 laptop) and Firefox 27.0.1 works normal again (I also have the latest version of Avast running on both machines). How exactly did you guys solve the problem? There was, of course, no compensation in terms of security, right? Thank you!

Re: 4.09 Beta Available (Latest Version 4.09.1)
Glad you like it. To solve the Avast incompatibility, we blocked Avast from injecting their Dll into sandboxed apps. Specifically, in templates.ini, we added ClosedFilePath for snxhk.dll and snxhk64.dll. I'm not sure what Avast is doing with these dlls, but it does not seem to interfere with their AV functionality.Bellzemos wrote:Good job! So that only applies for the sandboxed applications then? Programs running outside of the sandbox still have all Avast DDLs injected? Thank you Curt. :)
Re: 4.09 Beta Available (Latest Version 4.09.1)
As best as I can determine, snxhx.dll is the dll injected by avast's sandbox/autosandbox driver aswSnx.sys , hooking system APIs. (I make no pretense about understanding what that statement means.)
So it would appear it was a sandbox vs. sandboxie conflict that you had to resolve.

Correct. As ky331 points out, this is probably their own sandbox app which is unnecessary with Sandboxie.Bellzemos wrote:So that only applies for the sandboxed applications then? Programs running outside of the sandbox still have all Avast DDLs injected? Thank you Curt.

I'm still getting the Firefox freeze here. Haven't been able to use any version of Sandboxie with Firefox since upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1 64bit. It was working flawlessly until then. Chrome and IE work fine, by the way.
Re: 4.09 Beta Available (Latest Version 4.09.1)
Greetings,
I use [url=http://jriver.com/]JRiver Media Center[/url]. Till v4.08, it seems Sandboxie has caused the sandboxed instance of Media Center to leave its icon (from the unsandboxed one) that was pinned onto Taskbar. Since a new beta is under development, could you please look into this matter?
Thank you in advance,
Garth

I get "SBIE2205 Dienst nicht implementiert: NtCreateProcessEx (1204)". Any way to fix this?

Hi none of any Browser will work for me.
Just IE and that is f**cking slow.
So I read in forum to install Beta.
Installing 4.09 stopped by unpacking LICENCE.TXT.
Win 7, Kaspersky, FF, Chrome.
What else to do?

Hello,
I just insatlled the latest version of sandboxie and I still can't run the actual Firefox (28.0) under sandboxie.
Also games with a web based start interface don't run under Sandboxie.
I use it under Win7 64-bit.
Will this maybe solved in a newer version?
