How to stop Sanboxie from starting

Post by ScottN » Thu Jul 14, 2011 7:11 pm

I am trying to stop Sandboxie Control from automatically starting when I boot my computer.

In Windows Shell Integration I have unchecked: "When Windows Starts" Everything else on that page is unchecked

I do not see it in the list of startup files (MSCONFIG). It starts a few minutes after the computer boots - does not appear to be part of the boot, but starts afterwards.

Any suggestions for how to stop it from starting?

Thanks :-)

Sandboxie version: 3.56 (64 bit version)
Windows 7 64 Bit
Firefox 5.0.1

I don't get why you would consider doing that. Sandboxie is the lightest app on my system making virtually no difference in boot time. If your so compelled, go to the system config and uncheck the sandboxie startup item from being enabled.

Agreed.
But either way, perhaps turning off the Sandboxie service would prevent it from starting up on reboot?

I have tried to disable the Sandboxie Service however Sandboxie still starts up but now with errors.

As for why I need to stop it from starting, I am using on a work laptop and running special software and for testing purposes we can not have any other applications running.

There must be a way to stop this from auto booting

Perhaps the company computers are equipped to rollback when you restart? Thus the changes to Sandboxie or its service never "sticks"?

Yes, I know this thread is old, but there really isn't a solution to this. Anyways, I partially registered an account just to comment on this ridiculousness:

Probably because he doesn't use Sandboxie on a regular basis, and doesn't need it first thing on bootup? Why should this reason alone justify why we should always have sandboxie start up all the time?
