Does Sanboxie work well with Trustport, because I have Bitdefender at the moment and it doesn't work well with SB unless I turn Active Virus Control off, but I don't want to have to turn things off. :(

Hi Meme, I think one of the engines that Trustport uses is designed by Bitdefender. If you install Trustport, it is likely that you ll have the same problem that you are having now. I recommend you take a look at Microsoft security essentials. It works well with SBIE and I think is a decent antivirus to run along SBIE.

I'd advise to take a look at http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7444 to see if that solves your problem.
If not, you could contact customer support from bitdefender and/or experiment with the exclusion list of bitdefender.

If that doesn't work take a look at http://www.av-test.org/en/tests/home-user/ to find a proper replacement for bitdefender.
I advise against using Microsoft Security Essentials as AVAST! free-edition works with sandboxie and scores higher at the tests.

A quick search on google showed firewall issues with sandboxie, if bo.elam is right than that would make for a negative advise on switching to trustport.

@Guest101, I recommend to use MSE along Sandboxie because it does work properly with Sandboxie, there is no need to turn off anything in MSE for that to be the case. It has been that way for years. If you read the opening post, you ll see that Meme doesn't want workarounds. At this moment, people using Avast along SBIE have problems that have to be worked around.

Anyway, MSE is not that bad. I know there is a lot of people that enjoy bashing MSE but I don't know of anyone using MSE along SBIE that's gotten infected. I do know though that people using Avast without Sandboxie do get infected. Take a look.
