5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.04 RC)
Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01)
I'll make a thread for this Office 2010 bug... but for now the Office does not work when sandboxed on Windows 10.
FF not crashing for me but... do you have any fonts issues with it?
Win 10 RTM should "leak" this week

This one?
Similar to the issue I had when first Chrome x64 beta has been released and when dropped rights && UAC disabled was not broken there yet

I don't see the font rendering issue in Chrome 64. Question, are you using SBIE in a VM environment?
Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01)
I activated Office 2010 and run it couple times outside of the box. Seems to work better in sandbox now. Have you tried to add 'winword.exe' to forced programs and enable 'dropped rights'? The error should show up "Insufficient Memory or Disk Space, Cannot Display the Requested Font"

Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01)
the FF font issue has something to do with the rendering and Win10. It also doesn't display some pop up boxes when you close multiple tabs in FF and get the pop up box warning about closing all tabs. It just displays a blank box but the widget buttons seem active. We have not seen it in 32/64 Chrome.
The Office 2010 issue seems to resolve it's self once you activate it outside of a sand-boxed environment and then sandbox it. Office 365 currently does NOT work but a fix is coming very soon.

Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01)
- tried the latest sandboxie beta on win10 build 10166 x64 stock without any other software (note: after installing the win10 beta I reset/refreshed windows)
- sandboxie installed fine and driver loaded fine
- registration successful
BUT
- ie11 doesn't load nor show anything (through both forced programs AND right click run sandboxed)
- viewed through sandboxie control: 2 programs quickly appear and then disappear
thank you for your continued development

Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01)
Thanks for the info. Build 10166 was pulled back by MS. Are you sure it was IE11 and not Edge browser? We know that doesn't work.
At this time, SBIE is working in all builds of 10 (minus Metro and Edge) and we continue to test daily. We are seeing some weird Font rendering in FF as well.

Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01)
Windows 10 build 10240 has been given to OEMs, partners and Insiders. If they won't find any critical bugs like security holes then they call it RTM. Otherwise they may patch it leaving build number as it is.
I just finished installing (upgrade from 10166) it too. I did not check it yet but tracking should be disabled/not present by default and it should not be 'time-bombed'.
Sandboxie seems to work

OK, a follow up from above
- 10240 installed x64
- sandboxie 5.01 installed, registered and activated
- ie11 forced program
-ie11 sandboxed now works
Thank you Curt and team
ps desktop icon placed on desktop from installation "Sandboxed Web Browser" points to default web browser (which is Edge)

Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01)
If you change default web browser to something else, like IE11 or Firefox, that's the browser that will run sandboxed in DefaultBox when you click the "Sandboxed Web Browser" icon in the desktop.tes wrote: ps desktop icon placed on desktop from installation "Sandboxed Web Browser" points to default web browser (which is Edge)

Yes, please change your browser to a default other than Edge. Which isn't supported (yet) in SBIE for Win10. And once that's done (like Bo suggested) when you click run "sandboxed browser" will pull your new default choice up. You can always "right click" on any browser icon and click "run sandboxed" as well.

5.01.2 is available.

Code: Select all
SBIE1102 Sandboxie driver (SbieDrv) unloading
SBIE9234 Service startup error level 9153 status=C0000428 error=-1073740760
Since 10240 will become RTM (+/- security patches) it would be nice to get it working like 5.01 does. Did you test 5.02 on this build?
