"sort by" menu sometimes shows more/fewer options

The "sort by" context menu in Explorer sometimes shows more/fewer options than I see while unsandboxed.


Here's an example. I created a folder sandboxed, and one unsandboxed in the same location:



A lot of the times it happens, it shows fewer options.

It only seems to occur in certain folders(possibly ones created while sandboxed? I can't easily recreate this, so I don't know.). They don't seem to be 'special' folders(like documents, or music folders, etc.), so I don't see why they'd have separate settings like this.

I know I can manually add the option I need with the "more..." button(most of the time, it's "Type" that has disappeared), but it's annoying having this happen all the time, seemingly at random.

Interesting problem report. I experimented a bit but I don't see it on my system. I suggest that you first upgrade to the latest version of Sandboxie, just in case it happens to make a difference here. Please install version 3.74.

I upgraded to 3.74 and did some testing in a new sandbox with default settings. I wasn't able to reproduce it in the new sandbox. But I wasn't able to easily reproduce it before, so I don't know.


I looked in the Shell Bags in the registry of one of the Sandboxes I have that has this issue, and noticed that the only difference from a normal folder and one with the issue is the 'ColInfo' value. Everything else is the same.
