Hello, I just found out about sandboxie from shellcity.net today and so far it is blowing my mind away. The whole point of using virtualmachines for me was to isolate programs from modifying my OS files and sandboxie just solved that. Thanks!
now the problem
I can't get sysinternals regmon(registry monitor) and filemon(file monitor) to work inside the sandbox.
Also does deleting the sandboxie.ini file from the windows directory affect the way sandbox runs? so far after deleting it I haven't had any problems but I wanted to know your opinion if it was safe and if it can cause problems then is there a way to make it look for the sandboxie.ini file in the installation directory or any user specified directory instead of the windows directory?
Thanks again!
How to move the Sandboxie.ini file to any directory

Hi, glad you like Sandboxie.
While Regmon and Filemon can't run sandboxed, they can monitor the activity inside the sandboxed.
Sandboxie.ini stores some configuration. If you delete it, Sandboxie has default settings to fall back on, but they are minimal. There isn't anywhere else you can put that file, only in your Windows directory. Why is this a problem for you?

Well I have many number of reasons why not to put it in the Windows directory but most of the reasons are just preferences and backup taskmanagement related but it would make it a convenience to have it in a different directory like the installation directory or a user specified directory.tzuk wrote:Sandboxie.ini stores some configuration. Thanks for your reply!
I will consider having Sandboxie.ini in alternate folders, in case it is missing from C:\Windows. Where would you suggest to put it? (An obvious choice would be the Sandboxie installation directory.)
But I must say, implementing this feature is not a high priority on my to-do list, at this time.
