Auto Recovery Help

Post by HughJazz » Sat Feb 25, 2017 11:30 am

Guys, I'm having trouble on getting this to work, i download so many files and now it became real annoying for me that i have to recover each downloaded file manually.

I tried to add the folder path in quick recover and also enabled immediate recovery, I also tried doing the following steps from this thread http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=8710

Still getting prompts.

Hello HughJazz,

Add the folders to the exclusion list of Immediate Recovery --> Right click on your Sandbox --> Sandbox Settings --> Recovery ---> Immediate Recovery
Use the "Add Folder" button to add folders that you want to exclude ((so you will not get prompts).
You can also turn off Immediate Recovery by right clicking on your Sandbox--> Sandbox settings ---> Recovery --- > Immediate Recovery . Un-check "Enable immediate Recovery".
You can then manually invoke Quick Recovery once you are done working with your Sandbox, in order to recover your files.

Here's more info about Recovery options:
https://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?Get ... dPartThree
https://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?Rec ... ings#quick
https://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?ImmediateRecovery

If those settings do not work, please provide the following info:
What are your OS, Sandboxie and Antivirus versions?
Can you post the exact settings that you added to your Sandbox, so that we can review them?

Regards,
Barb.-

Immediate Recovery and Quick Recovery will both result in prompts to Recover the files.

If you want to recover downloads to a specified folder, without any prompts, you need to give the download program Direct Access to its downloads folder.

Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > File Access > Direct Access
I strongly urge that you limit the Direct Access only to the program that's doing the downloading, by using the "Add Program" button first, to specify the download program; and then use the "Add" button to choose the downloads folder that's used by that program.

Thanks for the reply guys!

I have done all of the steps on this thread, now I'm not getting any recovery prompts but the files get saved in the container folder instead.

Using Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Sandboxie 5.16 (64-bit)
I don't use any Anti Virus.

I have a browser sandboxed called Web Freer (webfreer.exe)

Here are some screenshots:

Hello HughJazz,

I tested Web Freer + similar settings and I did not have a problem. I changed the default WebFreer download folder to a newly created folder on my Desktop, then set that folder as Direct Access in Sbie.
Can you please try a different location, for testing purposes?

If all fails, please try with the latest beta :
