Could you recheck your steps in creating the portable version by going through the README again? It sounds like the driver and service are not being installed. The only reason I can think for this to happen is that the directory structure has been created incorrectly, or (more likely) the kmdutil.exe utility is not present in the Sandboxie directory along with the program files. If it is missing, it will fail silently to install/start the driver service.

If all the above is correct, you can take a screenshot of the program directory. Also, when the portable version is started, is the Sandboxie icon in the sys tray yellow like normal, or gray with a red dot in it? If it's gray, at a cmd prompt type

sc query SbieDrv
and
sc query SbieSvc

to verify the driver/service installation.

I had kmdutil.exe in the root folder... not 'App' -- once I moved it all is well!

I would really appreciate it if you would make your source code availible. I'm working on a very similar concept, but integrating Truecrypt/PStart into the mix.

If you don't want to release your full source code, I'd still appreciate any help.

Is the portable version installed on a network share (NET USE ...)? Or a substituted drive (SUBST ...). If so, try running everything from a local drive, C:\... or a USB drive, J:\...

I use it as a portable app all the time. Just updated it too. This is one of the only pieces of software I actually have sent donations for.

Please do not use SandboxiePortable with the new version of Sandboxie 3.02.25. There have been significant changes to the program and I need some information from tzuk before I can update the launcher to be compatible.

It WILL work with the official 3.02 version however.
