unsandboxed folders appearing in sandbox

Post by cutledge » Sun Oct 08, 2017 4:07 am

Hello everyone, I have a small problem with Sandboxie, can anyone please advise. Well it's more of an annoyance than anything.

I run a couple of versions of Firefox portable in their own sandboxes. What happens is, for no apparent reason, I get folders that are on my normal unsandboxed desktop, appearing on a sandboxed desktop. So the folder on my regular desktop contains files and folders, but the unwanted (ghost) folder that appears on my sandboxed desktop is empty. It occurs in more than one sandbox (I think), and has happened numerous times over the past couple of months or maybe longer. So I go on to my sandboxed desktop, and there are two or three folders there, empty, that shouldn't be there.

I'm running Win8.1 x64, the current Sandboxie version 5.20 x64, the sandboxes are for Firefox portable ver. 55.0.3, although this has been going on since ver.54.x.x. Firefox has uBlock Origin, Disconnect, plus a couple more add-ons. I'm running Panda Cloud AV free.

Thanks for your support

Probably the original files have not suffered any changes in the sandboxed environment, thats likely why those folders look empty. Only files that are changed by sandboxed programs get copied into the sandbox.
