That doesn't sound like a good idea, Joe (remember, October's Windows updates breaks SBIE).
http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 11&t=21911

Bo
I actually meant that as a (proactive) test. I did say to "try a few downloads" - Meanwhile off of a clean Windows 8.1 image, no AV installed - Sbie 5.06 clean new sandbox default settings - no Fx Add-Ons - no flash installed so no need to disable protected mode - Hardware Acceleration off - no themes installed - downloads freeze at 1% remaining.

Google search shows this same exact problem with other browsers, but not recently. So it does not need to be Fx, and there is no freeze unsandboxed. Sbie 4.20 remains all good.
So far, We haven't been able to recreate any download freeze issues in FF 41.0.2, Beta 42 or the newest Chrome.During the day, I'm downloading items in various OS's / Browsers in a SB all throughout the day normally,,
I'd suggest you try and provide us more info by running a ProcMon and sending us the resulting PML file:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sys ... 96645.aspx (free.)

Steps:
Close any programs that are not needed:
Run Procom (not sandboxed) and then try and fire up Firefox (or whatever browser is having the issue) and attempt to download a program (sandboxed of course). Let the error/freeze happen,
stop capturing events in Procmon (under file) and then Save the results (under file, make sure "save all events it ticked") and save in PML format. These files can be large, so post somewhere with a link in the forum so we can download and look OR email them(Please zip them!) to Support@sandboxie.com

Craig@Invincea wrote:@Xy667, Um, the Windows update did break SBIE. However, we posted a workaround and a new beta within hours. Beta 5.05.2 Addresses that. We're 2 releases past that with 5.06 RC.

The announcement addresses particular issues since Oct 15th.

I would advise your to upgrade. As for FF errors downloading, we are not aware of what you're reporting and we have had no other instances. Basic troubleshooting would be disable extensions. Disable any antivirus. Are you running AV?
Hi Craig

Did you read my previous posts? :)

I have upgraded Sandboxie to 5.06 on the weekend. This hasn't helped with my downloading issue with Firefox (or with the strange look of the Firefox minimise/maximise/close buttons when sandboxed). If you read my previous posts you'll see that I experience this download problem even with a fresh new Firefox profile with NO addons/extensions/themes. The minimise/maximise/close buttons only look strange when Firefox is run in the sandbox (see earlier post for image examples).

To answer your question about AV: No, I do not run any anti virus. I do run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Anti-Exploit though.

Joe is also experiencing this issue so hopefully you can help us to fix this annoything problem!
I would disable any and all antivirus or anti-malware first. We need to make sure the slate is clean. I'm not sure what to say about the "icons" looking strange. Again, that's not something we have seen or can recreate. In Win 10, we've seen the FF header appear to be a different (but correct) color.

As for the downloads freezing, etc. We haven't experienced it, I'm downloading items all day long in various OS's and VMs. However, my first thing would be to disable malwarebytes. You might be surprised!
Also, if you're experiencing this freeze on the same website, provide the links and I will attempt the downloads as well.

Update:
I'm testing on 8.1/64 using FF 41.0.2 and FF Beta 42. As well as Chrome/64 v46.0.2490.80m (Webroot Extension enabled in both browsers)
I've installed Malware Bytes Premium Trial (default install) v2.0.0.1024
WebRoot SecureAnyWhere A/V (Trial, just to test w/ AV running - default install) v9.0.5.8

Thus far, I have yet to experience any FF download freezing or crashing (I hadn't before hand). I've download Linux Mint for USA Mirror as well as a EUR mirrors, Various size programs from cnet.downloads.com , Sandboxie.com,& various other sites.

If you have links for me to try as well, post them.

Craig - http://www.megafileupload.com/i0km/logfile.zip
This was from a Firefox 45 alpha I am trialing but it is probably the same freeze - thank you for taking the time to look at it.

FF42x64 Not Responding on download.
I'll Terminate All Programs and find download waiting for Recovery.
I was thinking recent FF42x64 install as causal until reading this Thread.

In Firefox my download folder is set to D:\Downloads and in Sandboxie for the sandbox I run Firefox in I have added D:\Downloads to the File Access - Direct Access section.

Windows 8.1 x64
Chrome 46.0.2490.86 m (64-bit)
Sandboxie 5.06

Problem still persists for me with Chrome. Occurs about 50% of the time.

The current issue we are seeing, mainly with Windows 10 is random Chrome.exe has crashed. That's being looked at. Most likely a loader / timing issue.

As for downloading issues and crashing, I'm not sure what that can be. It's something we haven't been able to recreate. However, if Chrome crashes, It could be related to the loader issue.

I am also having firefox crashes after downloading. I tried to find a way to trigger the hang but it seems to occur at random intervals.
I my search for a solution I tried different browsers with the latest Sandboxie (5.07.1 x64). In my case Firefox and Cyberfox are crashing frequently but the latest version of Palemoon seems unaffected.
On occasion after downloading with palemoon a dialog box comes up saying: "Download error", "the download file could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location". After clicking OK the download is completed and recovered without a problem.
Maybe firefox and cyberfox are having the same problem.

Tested on windows 8.1
Sandboxie 5.07.01 x64
Palemoon 25.8.1 x86
Firefox 42.0 x86
Cyberfox 42.0.1 x64

Delete the contents of your sandbox (or create a new sandbox.)
Are you running add-ons? Extension? If so, only run the CORE browser with any of those disabled.

I've been having this problem every day since I last posted here but today I made some security changes and I haven't thus far been able to reproduce the issue. When I first open Firefox and download something like a html5 video or jpeg the initial download does still stall for about a second but so far it hasn't frozen Firefox, downloads after that are instant.

I swapped out EMET 5.2 and KeyScrambler Pro for Hitman Pro.Alert 3.

Usually, those issues have to do with Antimalware / Antivirus installed on your system conflicting with SBIE.
