2. Right-click on the picture that should be opening using Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
3. Choose Run Sandboxed

Wow, your right, ive never noticed it because i just use Irfanview as my default, but i just tried it and Windows Picture and Fax Viewer terminates itself before you ever see the picture, but Irfanview for example works fine.
Windows 7 SP1 x64, Sandboxie v3.70 x64 with Experimental Protection, GnuPG, OTR (Off-The-Record), Sticky Password, My Brain.
vista x86, right-click a jpg file and select run sandboxed:
Code: Select all
Sandboxie Start
Could not invoke program:
"FILEL.JPG"
System Error Code:
%1 is not a valid Win32 application.

I have two experiences. If I run Windows Explorer sandboxed and double-click on a jpg file in the sample pictures folder, I get a sandboxed Pictures and Fax Viewer running just fine.
If I have a normal Windows Explorer on the same folder, and I click Run Sandboxed, I get the "Could not invoke program:" error that street011 reported.
martin007/SnDPhoenix, what do you mean when you say "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is closed as soon as its been opened via Sandboxie 2.94.23", do you mean like street011's error, or is it a silent failure, or what?

Update:
On Windows XP I do get the behavior "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is closed as soon as its been opened via Sandboxie".
It's not fixable, because on Windows XP the preview function doesn't seem to invoke another program. It invokes functionality inside Windows Explorer. So there really isn't any separate viewer program that could be made to "Run Sandboxed".
Workaround is to run Windows Explorer itself sandboxed and then preview the pictures.
