Browser Bookmarks while browser is sandboxed ?

Post by bawldiggle » Thu Jul 03, 2014 9:22 pm

When surfing the the web I often bookmark page URLs.

If Browser is sandboxed and a new Bookmark is created in the mozilla-browser Library, when SandBoxie is closed are the new Bookmarks lost?
If they are lost, how can I create new bookmarks in the browser-Library while the browser is sandboxed ?

Would appreciate any advice :)

You can save bookmarks out of the sandbox by ticking "Allow Direct access to Firefox bookmarks and history database."

To do that for Firefox or Palemoon, go to Sandboxie control>Sandbox>DefaultBox>Sandbox settings>Applications>Web browser>Firefox.

Is it possible to allow direct access to the bookmarks but not your browsing history?

As far as I know that cant be done. What I do is set Firefox to "Never remember history". Or use custom settings for history. Those settings seem to clear history pretty well for me. In my XP, I think history gets cleaned up better by using custom settings. In W7, I cant tell a difference if I use custom settings or set the browser to never remember history..
