Re: Can't delete contents of a sandbox
Thanks for your response Buster, it is indeed somewhat disapointing and not a
stimulation to go for the paid version of sandboxie.
But in the meantime I think I have solved the problem myself.
I discovered or more close I remembered that I unticked in the Sandboxie Control > Configure >
Windows Shell Integration > 'Start Sandboxie Control when Windows starts'.
I activated this again and voila, I could delete the contents of sandboxie!
Perhaps this threadstarter can benefit from this?

AnalogueMan, the solution that works 99.99% to the Can not delete sandbox problem was posted here by Buster himself less than 30 minutes after this thread was created. Myself, in the extremely rare occasions that I have experienced that situation, rebooting has always taken care of the problem. Fair is fair, I honestly cant see what else Invincea could have done here.

You are not the only one disappointed. I guess the guy, just in example, from this thread will not be much happy:AnalogueMan wrote:Thanks for your response Buster, it is indeed somewhat disapointing and not a

And like that guy, others that did not get a reply at all.

Re: Can't delete contents of a sandbox
As you found out, you can't run Sbie in safe mode. Just delete the sandbox folder from explorer. If it won't let you, then something has messed up the permissions on the folder.AnalogueMan wrote:Now, I am facing the same problem which this threadstarter describes:
I cannot delete the sandboxie contents even after I restarted my pc which was a solution until now.
Now the same window pops up with the same text.
Restarting in safe mode and trying to delete the contents fails because
Windows 'cannot start sandboxie in safe mode'. Is some mallware in the sandbox preventing
deleting the sandboxie contents or is this too far fetched?
Perhaps uninstall and reinstalling sandboxie is an option?
Can somebody out there give me some advice please?

Well, it turned out that I still face this problem: out of the blue my sandboxed firefox will not make aBuster wrote:You are not the only one disappointed. connection with a site anymore during a internet session....
After closing sandboxie:then still it is impossible to delete its contents.
This must be a sandboxie software bug for people using the Windows 7 as an O.S.
Very, very annoying!! I think I have to rely on my anti virus software only, to get rid of this problem.
Re: Can't delete contents of a sandbox
I have been having this issue for a while, and I have checked these boards many time for solutions. The restarting the computer trick usually worked, but this time it was not doing the trick.
This is what lead me to the solution. I registered an account on this forum just so I could possibly help someone who is having the same problem as I was. After trying to delete the sandboxie folder, it would not let me saying that it was probably open in another window (which I knew it wasn't). So Curt@invincea was right, I checked my folder permissions. You find your sandboxie folder, right click for properties, go to the security tab, and go through your groups and user names there. If you want to be thorough, for each one make sure that everything has a checkmark next to Allow (full control was not checked for me). Once I did that and hit apply, I didn't need to delete the folder. I just opened up sandboxie and tried to delete contents again and it worked no problem. Hope this helps anyone who was struggling as much as I wasCurt@invincea wrote:As you found out, you can't run Sbie in safe mode. Just delete the sandbox folder from explorer.
