Version checker/updater.../beta updater (+POLL)

I've enabled RSS to the thread where there are beta updates, but any chance on a "update notifier" which includes an option for "include beta/alpha updates"?

If others think this is useful, please speak up.

Please don't use polls for feature requests.

There are betas every couple of days. There is no reason for an automatic check.
