Ok, I have installed Lavasofts AdAware AV and this is working fine (was running it on Windows 8.1 too).

Can anything be done to fix the weird looking menus in Tox (as per screenshot)?

So, if there is ever a reason for pre W10 to run v5.01.x ....
Please advise this Thread.

v4.20 installer is 3.7mb
v5.01 installer is 5.1mb
Maybe the 1/3 larger installer is all for W10...?
Thank you.

After some day sandboxie beta 5.01.8 has stopped working.
Load programs already put in the sandbox, but not new setup :shock:

Windows compatibility mode with W8 or W7 not solve this problem.

A new installation of sandboxie correct the problem.

Adding the .exe's to Windows Defender (W10) resolved all of my crashing issues with the beta.

Only if you're running into specific issues in v4.20 that the Beta 5 may address, but most of those issues are related to Win 10 Anyway. v4.20 is fine for anything pre-Win 10.

v4.20 installer is 3.7mb
v5.01 installer is 5.1mb (32 bit is 3.1mb)
Maybe the 1/3 larger installer is all for W10...? (This is a lot more under the hood..so yes.)
Thank you.

However, today when checking post here in the forum I had Firefox sand boxed and the entire bar with the links for Help & Facts, Downloads and the Forum on sandboxie.com did not display, until I again disabled forced programs and then viewed the web site outside of the sandbox. I hope this helps a little, I'm looking forward to your next release.

Yes, it's a system wide font issue w/ Win10. Shows up a lot more in FF. Chrome is immune.

Yes, your additional data will help.
I can confirm that playing videos using Potplayer x64, Potplayer x86 and AIMP3 inside a sandbox are fine with no audio issues. 8)

Seems like MPC-HC is one of the media players that has this audio issues from 5.01.3 onwards. :lol:
I'm going to try and focus on the sound issue today. I'll look at MPC-HC to start. I'll also look at QT, iTunes, WMP, VLC and see. It may be related to an SDK that was added when this started to break.

Update on Sound issues - Testing today:
Win 10 (VM environment) using SBIE v5.01.8.

Tested thus far:
I ran all the tested programs "as sandboxed" and then opened an AVI/mp3/mp4 & .Mov files

MPC-HC x64 v1.7.9=A/V functioning.
VLC = A/V A/V functioning
iTunes =A/V Functioning
Quick Time 7 = A/V Functioning
Web browser media= A/Vfunctioning

This doesn't mean there isn't a problem, we are still looking into it.

It would be helpful if you listed what codecs are listed as missing, and what types of videos you are trying to play. As Craig said above, VLC in general works fine.

@Curt,

To clarify VLC has no audio on both(MP3) and video(AVI). In regards with Potplayer I cant remember what SBIE v5 version it started when its Installed inside the sandbox, or install in the system then run sandbox a missing codec always appear. Not quite sure what codec its trying to read/search but even when I download and re-install:OpenCodecSetup64.exe for Potplayer the issue is not resolved. Again both players run w/o any problem when not sandbox.

Maybe for Win10 it works but as indicated on my signature I'm still using Win7 x64

@Curt,

I tested it again with version v5.01.5 still not working, then reverted back to v4.20 no problem running VLC sandbox... I'm assuming this started with v5.01.3 onward
and another thing just a minor problem "This program might have not installed correctly" always shows when installing/upgrading v5(beta).
