Windows 10 RU - UAC/admin failing, system error 1223

Post by Erilaric » Mon Nov 07, 2016 2:08 pm

After installing Sandboxie 5.14, i get a strange behavior.
When I try to run the application as administrator, I get the following error from system:

"Не удается найти "C:\Users\******\testapp.exe". Проверьте правильно ли указано имя и повторите попытку"
(Translation: Cannot find file "C:\Users\******\testapp.exe" Check whether the name are correct and try again)

And after that message, goes another one:

"Could not invoke program:
"C:\Users\******\testapp.exe"
System Error Code:
Операция была отменена пользователем. (1223)"
(Translation: The operation was canceled by the user. (1223))

When i try to run app with standard rights, everything goes OK.
There is no Cyrillic symbols in path(and path is correct), i tried with different UAC settings, same result(and yes, i tried to set "Run as UAC administrator").

Brief OS info:
Windows 10 Home Single Language (RU)
Version: 1607
OS Build: 14393.321

Installed antivirus programms: Avast and Immunet

@Erilaric

Were you performing backup when launching Sbie?

I've seen system error 1223 when backup process fails. To fix this I changed the location to backup then launched Sbie.

Have you tried creating a new default sandbox then launching the application again "steam?

Dear chris and other users,

I figure out what were gone wrong. The problem was that my operation system was damaged (the registry had some weird values, some of the registry branches were missing, and the necessary services to maintains system were broken(unable to start, or instant crash).

But if someone else, has this problem, I recommend to do clean OS install (not to restore to factory settings from Windows settings!). It will reinstall whole system (and (if you want) leave files on there places).

Also thanks for your reply Chris.
