Goodsync (install in sandbox & access to other drives)

Sorry I am new to sandboxie and I am trying to get the following 2 things working correctly:

1)
I install "GoodSync" by right-clicking and running it sandboxed, the installation target is "C:\Sandbox\tester\DefaultBox" (I use the 'default ' sandbox)

question: Is it correct that I can backup the full contents of "C:\Sandbox\tester\DefaultBox" and then completely reinstall my OS and Sandboxie and then restore the backed-upped contents of "C:\Sandbox\tester\DefaultBox" into the newly installed sandboxie-defaultbox?

I experimented in a virtual machine and it seemed to work, I just wanted to know if this is a correct approach. I do not want to use Sandboxie in a matter that is not advised.

2)
I have 2 drives C and D, I want to give the sanboxed GoodSync application FULL access to my D drive. I have tried to configure the access options so GoodSync can copy\move\delete files on my D drive without doing it in the Sandbox.
Every option I try leads to the manipulation of 'C:\Sandbox\tester\DefaultBox\drive\D' but I want that part to be done directly in my D drive.

I tried:
step 1: Sandbox Settings >> Resource Access >> File Access
step 2: use button "Add Program" and then point to the 'GoodSync.exe' whitin the default sandbox
step 3: assign the D drive with the "Add" button. I tried this with "Direct Access" , "Full Access" and "Write only Access"

I first started with "Full Access" but that didn't work so after that I tried the others but still no success.

Must I use wild cards (d:\*.*)? Or did I miss something? (which I probably did)
I read the online help file and "Full Access" seemed the way to go... (?)

Well, you could do that if you're thinking about reinstalling Windows. You could also just ZIP DefaultBox and restore it later.
If you are installing a new version of Windows you may have a little cleanup to do in the Sandboxie configuration file C:\Windows\Sandboxie.ini (which you would probably want to save).

Full Access is correct. Maybe the .exe name wasn't entered correctly?
Try selecting Full Access again but leave "The list below applies to" set to All Programs, then select D: drive with the "Add" button - as a test.

After hours of trying in the virtual machine I almost gave up on sandboxie, the problem was probably the way virtualbox maps a drive. To be more clear it was mapped as "D" but also as an network drive.
After your confirmation on staying with "Full Access" I tried it in my host machine and it worked immediately like I wanted.

Final question


I seem to be having problems accessing network drives, I have looked here:

But I already tried that.
I am now testing on my host machine (main machine) and not a virtual machine.

The Synchronization program "GoodSync" keeps giving me errors

The network share = T:\
I am trying to sync folder (A) on T:\ with folder (B) on T:\ , but it this does not work.
Doing a sync with folder (S) on my local D:\ with folder (A) on T:\ works partially, files get synced, but I keep getting the following error

- ERROR: Cannot rename temp file to destination file: Access is denied. (error 5)

I use windows 7 64bit in combination with credentials to connect to the share.
I have UAC turned off.

The following error keeps coming up in Goodsync.
When doing syncs on the Network share T:\A <=> T:\B

When I install goodsync outside sandboxie, it works perfectly.
Whitin the sandbox I keep getting access denied errors (see code block above).

I posted there also about my encounter. At the moment I do not know if I stumbled against some sort of limitation due to the program "GoodSync" or "SandBoxie" or most likely I forgot to set an option correctly.

There have been problems with Sandboxie and network shares for a long time.
The best that you can do is to give Full Access to the drives involved, and see what you get.
For myself, I can create, save, edit, rename any files in folders on my Z: drive, using a full access setting.
What I can't do is to create a new folder, and give it any name except 'New Folder', from a sandboxed program.

On the other hand, if I create a Truecrypt volume on Z: drive, and mount it as drive K:, I can do anything with it in a sandboxed program.

After some reading in other topics it begins to make sense why i'm having troubles with this.
