Alternate alternate locations for Applications=>Folders

Post by lwc » Sun Apr 25, 2010 10:10 am

It turns out this is a global option, even though it's inside each sandbox's settings.

Some programs (like FireFox) can be run with multiple profiles. Alas, Sandboxie supports just one (whether original or alternate). And I mean "one" literally because this is a global option.

If the "Add" button in "Alternate location" was used to add text fields (with the last one always being empty), it would solve this issue even as a global setting.

It aims for the common case, where there is just one profile.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean about adding text fields there, can you elaborate? You mean adding a number of alternate locations, as opposed to just one?

I meant that each time one clicks add, it would also add another field in which you could supply another location (and click add again).

OK, now I fully understand. It's not something that I can address soon, but it does have some merit, so I'll keep it under consideration.

As a first step, how about supporting it manually from the INI file?

Behind the scenes, these folder/template variables end up as OpenFilePath exclusions anyway. If you're going to mess with INI files anyway, then you can just add the settings directly.
