Test and install apps on a USB C stick

Hello,

Here is a short description of what I'm trying to achieve. Is all this possible with Sandboxie?

Goals:
- extend storage (128gb ssd laptop), I want to be able to install apps on external storage thinking they are on C:/
- but be able to remove the external storage when apps are not needed
- complete isolation between my external storage and the system disc

Apps are 32 or 64 bits
OS is Win10 64bits

I did a short try with the free version but:
- impossible/difficult to unmount the USB stick even after stopping sandboxie
- could not launch firefox and libreoffice installer

Are there functionnalities not available in the free version?

Thanks for your advices, experiences...

Hello Acertia,

Installed applications are stored in the Sandbox folder (typically "C:\Sandbox"). This folder can be changed via here:
https://www.sandboxie.com/SandboxMenu#container

I also recommend that you take a look at our FAQ to understand what do we offer:
https://www.sandboxie.com/FrequentlyAskedQuestions

Here are some existing threads regarding using Sandboxie with external drives:

viewtopic.php?p=117273#p117273

The differences between paid and free versions are a few features such as Forced Programs/Folders, Office C2R support and running multiple Sandboxes at once. More info here:

Regards,
Barb.-
