Whats going on with the creators update, Microsoft has made the SDK available and it is final, even though it is buidl number 15021, it is ready for use to update sandboxie, now that the latest Insider preview is build 15042, you can use Visual Studio 2017RC to update Sandboxie to get it to work with the Creators update, It is not currently working, I get the following errors when trying to open any web browser on build 15042 - and nothing will run in a sandbox, I get errors like Start - SBIE1222 Error with security token: [C00000BB / 35]
SBIE1222 Error with security token: [C00000BB / 36]
SBIE2314 Canceling process Start.exe
or when trying to run any program sandboxed, you can;t even pick a program you get this SBIE1222 Error with security token: [C00000BB / 35]
SBIE1222 Error with security token: [C00000BB / 36]

Hi,
Does the latest beta version address the issue of firefox blank pages? If not, then could you please address it in the next beta, as having to manually go into 'about:config' every time is realy annoying.

The changes of this beta are listed at the beginning of this post. The Firefox issue hasn't been solved as of yet.
For updates and workarounds regarding the Firefox issue, please review the Firefox thread:
http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 11&t=23902
You only need to apply the changes once (outside Sandboxie), please see the thread for more details and reply there if you have any questions.

The latest working Windows Insider version is listed at the beginning of this thread "FR 15031".
The devs are aware that the new update is not working with Sandboxie and a fix will be released once found.
Please keep in mind that using Windows Insider may break Sandboxie from time to time.

Re: 5.17 Beta Available (latest version 5.17.4)
I offer my personal guarantee: if you install Windows Fast Ring builds, I guarantee you will have problems.
Re: 5.17 Beta Available (latest version 5.17.4)
Today I encounter a strange bug, so I thought to mention it here.
Somehow suddenly out of nowhere when I switch (focus) from other apps to visual studio, sandboxie popup a warning SBIE2337 Failed to start program[SOME RANDOM NUMBER]. It kept popping up that warning when I switched task forth and back to VS until I restarted visual studio. Compiling the project causes msbuild.exe to be launched inside sandboxie. We heard that apps manages to leak outside sandboxie, but now somehow visual studio process slipped into sandboxie. This hasn't happened before and I'm on windows 10x64 143939.
EDIT: Can devs make simple message more verbose or at least show what it trying to start in this case? SBIE2337 also doesn't have description online. Thanks.
---
Another thing to mention, when updating nvidia driver. It will fail if there is sandboxed process being run due to sandboxie locking system files. If I remember correctly the catroot database file by sandboxie crypto/bits process which windows service try to access - this happen from previous sandboxie version not sure if it happen on latest one. So a tip here, if some apps doesn't start correctly, try close all sandboxed process first.

- It is not "some random number", those are important error codes.
- Apps do not "leak" in or out of Sandboxie. They are either started in the sandbox or out of the sandbox, depending on the configuration.
- Sandboxie does not lock system files. The sandboxed application may be doing that. But, that would be the same if the app were running outside Sbie.
- Are you trying to run VS in Sbie? I can't think of any reason why msbuild would start in Sbie unless you are running VS in Sbie or you have used a forced folder.

Re: 5.17 Beta Available (latest version 5.17.5)
5.17.5 has been released.
Re: 5.17 Beta Available (latest version 5.17.5)
1) Sorry, but if the message verbose, those important number can be understand, probably like (Exit code: 25, HResult: 25, CmdLine: C:\msbuild.exe) for now its just a 2 number that doesn't tell anything to user. I don't even know which program failed to start and this vague message makes me feel insecure, probably something dangerous trying to start itself via exploit or something.
2) Visual Studio was started outside sandboxie and after a long session of developing suddenly it leak into sandboxie. VS has been running at least a day/40+ hour. Restarting VS solved this issue, so I don't think it is a forced folder or similar. No configuration changes for sandboxie either, and sandboxie doesn't get restarted or reinstalled.
3) Well apps I run inside sandboxie shouldn't locking system file as well, that's why I suspected sandboxie and windows resource tell it is a sandboxie process - let's say a user app trying to verify digital signature via winapi. This process if I am not mistaken will eventually communicate with windows cryptography service. If SandboxieCrypto meant to replace the windows cryptography service (and is locking the same file aswell) in my opinion it is the sandboxie that locks the system apps. However since I don't know what actually happening inside I might entirely wrong about this.
EDIT: I found the event log:
For number 2 I'd like to elaborate. This might shed some light.
I am developing a .dll plugin that run with a host app inside sandboxie. So sometimes when I like to step through the code, I attach the debugger to the sandboxed host process. The host process has an entry in both forced folder and forced program. Sometimes the host process crashes and then popped a VS JIT dialog inside sandboxie; I usually attach it with VS running outside sandboxie and close all the VS JIT dialog that popped earlier. Both host app and plugins has been maintained and developed like this for 4+ years and this is first occurrence to me. Well as stated in earlier posts, I only like to mention this since my way of developing stuffs is weird, so you can completely ignore this issue. There is no way I can reproduce this. I just hope all vague error/warning message like above can get a little bit more verbose.
Thanks for still maintaining and developing sandboxie even after been acquired 2 times!

Hello goran2222 ,
I tried to repro this issue but I am not seeing it, do you have more information regarding how are you reproducing it?
Any antivirus installed?
Please try deleting the contents of your Sandbox and see if that helps.
Regards,
Barb.-

Re: 5.17 Beta Available (latest version 5.17.5)
Hi goran2222,
You can see if the problem follows you to a new Sandbox.
If it doesn't, then you will need to either delete contents, or see if you have any settings that might be causing the issue.
If the issue does follow you to a new Sandbox, let us know the exact repro steps and we can have a look.
Are there any Chrome extensions installed?

Barb.-
