Can't use this program when sandboxed

Post by PiwPi » Wed Mar 11, 2015 12:20 pm

The program is called Thumbnail Me, a screenshot maker http://www.thumbnailme.com/

Download link is https://sourceforge.net/projects/thumbn ... t/download

When the program is sandboxed and you try to create a screenshot/preview it says "Mtn binary not found. Operation cancelled". I'm guessing the file mtn.exe in the mtn folder needs to be executed when creating the screenshot and SB is not allowing it even though I've given the entire Thumbnail Me folder direct access. I've tried giving mtn.exe and thumbnailme.exe direct access as well.

How do I get the program to work under SB?

(To use the program just drag a video file into the window. Then click to highlight the filename that's listed on the bottom left next to the Load button. Then click "Preview selected file" or "Start" to create the screenshot)

It works in Sandboxie version 3.76 (running on Win 7). Sandboxie versions after 3.76 broke some media-related apps that I use, so I remain on v 3.76. You can install v3.76 if you wish.

I was not able to duplicate the problem with XP SP3, Sandboxie 4.17.1, and an .MP4 video file.
(And no special settings were applied to the sandbox)

Whether Thumbnail Me was installed inside of a sandbox, or installed outside and then Run Sandboxed, I had no problems with either install.
