My Firefox is forced to run in the sandbox and after some problems it's running fine. There is one problem left. If I call the browser the first time from inside a PDF by clicking a link like this
it works fine. (At this time Firefox is "outside" the box). But if Firefox is open / running inside the box I get
if I try to open another link from a PDF I get this error messages from Acrobat
any solution?

Re: how to access a forced browser from outside the sandbox
I'm not all that familiar with Adobe Reader but I did try to reproduce your issue on a Win7 x64 VM using both Adobe Reader DC 2015.023.20053 and Adobe Reader 11.0.10 [both fresh installs, no updates after the install] alongside Firefox 51.01 (set as default browser) but didn't see any errors while trying to open a link from inside a pdf opened by an unsandboxed Adobe Reader.
Could you share a bit more information such as:
Your Windows build and type, eg Win 10 Home x64
Your Adobe Reader version
Your Sandboxie version
Any AntiVirus or other security products that might be installed along with version numbers.
As pdfs aren't exactly the safest document format to be opening unsandboxed in the first place, perhaps one idea might be to simply sandbox the pdf viewer to start with? Just a random thought.

@Syrinx
OK here the answer
Win 7 x64, Acrobat DC 15.23.20056 (not reader), Sandboxie 5.16 64 bit (paid version) and no AV etc. but a VPN if I am online.
Did you try it after Firefox is already running in sandbox?

Re: how to access a forced browser from outside the sandbox
No I didn't, I had gathered (perhaps incorrectly) that it worked ok if Firefox was already opened. Maybe I got that in reverse? Anywho I'll try to get a trial of the full DC [not just reader version] and see if I can reproduce it with that one. I'll be sure to verify firefox is already running before trying this time! Sorry...Did you try it after Firefox is already running in sandbox?
Update:
Confirmed the issue when firefox is already running sandboxed.

It doesn't happen if firefox hasn't been started. It's the reverse of what I saw last time I looked at office, odd! (unless I'm just recalling incorrectly)
I haven't seen any easy workarounds yet but I'll let you know if I come up with any possibilities.
A weird thing I noticed is that it does still seem to open the page inside the sandboxed firefox, on occasion though it is a bit later, if I quickly double-tap the link in adobe dc.
Update2: So it seems I had it wrong, it's once I press 'OK' in the first Acrobat error, "The web browser has not responded to your request for over 1 minute: terminating the request." that it then opens the url in the already opened sandboxed firefox. Funny thing is it's not a minute going by, just a few seconds before that alert pops up. I'm going to throw out a guess that it's due to some communication blocked by SBIE (or not accounted for in adobe) [and not showing up in resource access monitor, I only saw Sandboxie_DDE_ProxyClass show up] which ends the attempts early. I also tried looking through various registry entries and tried to eliminate any /dde entries similar to what worked in office but nothing changed in my attempts so far. In short, I haven't really made any progress and unless I can suddenly think of a new approach to try it looks like we'll need to leave this to the pros to figure out what is going on and if it is an issue with SBIE or if it can be worked around on SBIE's end or not.

Re: how to access a forced browser from outside the sandbox
I am able to reproduce the issue with Firefox. It seems to work just fine with Chrome and IE (in case you want to try a different browser).
I'll make the devs aware and update this thread if anything new comes up.
