Re: Support
Invincea acquired Sandboxie and had been working on the code for 1 year before Ronen's departure. The only thing that changed was Ronen leaving (and unbanning your forum account). That means that whatever you attribute personally to Ronen left with him. Invincea has always given priority to issues that affect the most number of users.
Re: Support
Personally I can completely understand where Curt is coming from in the PM and would like to thank Invincea for their continued development of sandboxie (long may it continue).
I only hope that after this thread runs it's course we can finally put the "Ronens support was better" argument to rest and allow developers to prioritise their own time.

Re: Support
When it comes to Sandboxie´s users that is not an argument, it is a fact. Curt explained the reasons for that.RooJ wrote:"Ronens support was better" argument to rest and allow developers to prioritise their own time.
And if you did not experience any issue with Sandboxie, good for you!, but there are other users who stay on Sandboxie 3.76 because software they use do not work on 4.x and other users came to report problems and after not receiving any reply they never joined again.
So, for a second, think about that users and not only about yourself. Maybe one day you want to use a software and it does not work under Sandboxie and then you do not receive any support to get it running.
Does Martin Niemöller´s "First they came ..." tell anything to you?
And talking about "developers"...
Do you see normal that Sandboxie's main developer provide forum support when it is supposed to be a team working in the product?
For me that is a folly.

Re: Support
To be honest Buster I think your expectations of Invinceas support are unrealistic given the price and the fact that it's a lifetime purchase.Buster wrote:So, for a second, think about that users and not only about yourself. Also, In the small amount of posts I've made on this forum I've tried to help a number of people, I've also ran into compatibility issues which I haven't been able to fix (eg Outlook indexing still doesn't work for me in sandboxie). It's not about me being alright so screw everyone else, i'm just being realistic.
Re: Support
You mean Ronen´s expectations were unrealistic, don´t you?

For me the level of egoism and lack of empathy here is impressive.

Re: Support
No Buster, I mean your expectations are unrealistic.. last I checked you started this discussion on support not Ronen.
Re: Support
I had certain expectations because of this:

http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 878#p97878
So I do not know from where you get that my expectations were unrealistic because they are based on comments done by Ronen and Curt.

and this:tzuk wrote:There may be some changes, but please rest assured that there is little cause for concern.

When I noticed the support was not being the same I told it. For long time I was told I was wrong, until a few days ago, when Curt sent me a message where he says I was right, the support is not the same because the company can not spend the same time in Sandboxie´s users problems like Ronen used to do.Curt wrote:The only big change is that Ronen is departing.

Re: Support
Another good example, Buster. Until that posting I had never heard of the GOG downloader, and neither had anyone at Invincea. We have received no other reports of anyone else attempting to use it or caring about it. In that post, 2 other users confirmed there was a problem, 1 user said it worked for him. How much time do you think Invincea should invest investigating that issue? Just like the rest of the real world, we do not have unlimited resources.
You don't like it when no one responds, you don't like it when I say we will get to it when we can, you don't like it when I suggest using another app instead, you don't like it when I say it isn't compatible with Sandboxie, you don't like it when I say no one else cares.
What will make you happy in this instance? What would Ronen do? Why doesn't someone contact GOG and tell them to make their app work with Sandboxie?

I told you several times already that it is fine. Your fault has been waiting for so long to tell Sandboxie´s users problem reports were not prioritary anymore.Curt@invincea wrote:Another good example, Buster. Do you understand it or not?
And I have good reasons to do not like this situation. Why? Because when Ronen used to give support, he was the only person doing everything and the support was superb. Now that there is a team (more than one person one charge of the project) the support is worst than when only one person was in charge.
For me this situation f*cks logic, if you allow me the expression.
I just can not understand why one person could give such superb support and a team can not.
What would Ronen do? At least he would have replied. He would not let the user go from forum without a reply.

Re: Support
I'm curious as to what companies like Symantec, McAfee, etc. do with these kind of support problems. Do they download 2GB Procmon files from every user for every problem and spend hours going through the junk loaded on peoples' machines to diagnose issues? Do they issue beta releases to fix individual problems reported by 1 user? What companies would you like us to emulate, Buster? Have you considered abandoning Sandboxie and using one of these other products? Would you like me to personally give you your $40 back?
I've have wasted FAR too much time on this crap. I need to get back to Windows 10 compatibility. I am out of babysitting time.
RONEN HAS RETIRED. And I think everyone should understand why at this point. Damn.

You are trying to distract the attention from my points. Why is the main developer giving forum support? Why are not you full time dedicated to development?
Who else is working on Sandboxie and what are their functions?
Why a team can not give the same support just one person used to give?
If you do not reply that questions, I hope Norm will do.

Ah, another great post from the good old days.tzuk wrote:Buster, you've had a long and good run in this forum. Since you decided to give up BSA, your posts are turning more and more hostile towards me. I suggest that you make the respectable decision to say a proper goodbye to everyone and find interest in some other place on the Internet. Any other route might end up with a less respectable separation between you and this forum.

Another distraction you mean.
Reply these questions and stop avoiding them:

Re: Support
No need to ask "what would Ronen do?" We can look at what he actually did!

Ok, I will do exactly what Ronen did. Consider the last quote from me as well.tzuk wrote:This is not a debate. That you have developed a habit to try to annoy me does mean that I have to put up with it. We can try to coexist here by ignoring each other. You can do that, or you can go away. Decide.
