My suggestions for sandboxie

Post by mydarkpassenger » Sun Aug 01, 2010 5:03 am

I'd like to see an option that extends direct/full access to use file extensions. For example, for txt files all programs have direct access, for doc files ms word has direct access, but word couldn't directly modify exe files. I'd also like to see an option that automatically sandboxes exe files and msi files but leaves other files alone under specific directories like the downloads directory.

I think would be nice would be a sandboxie confirm box sorta like the vista/windows 7 prompt for exe files. You'd get a prompt saying the following file type could be dangerous and would you like to run the file in a protected environment.

It would be useful to have a right click option to create a new sandbox based off of an existing sandbox. For example, right click on setup.exe and you can prompted for a name and you choose a template for the new sandbox. The program will then run in this newly created sandbox.

OpenFilePath=*.txt
OpenFilePath=winword.exe,*.doc

(I'm not sure that I would like to use the second one)

I noticed the wild card after I posted it, but thanks for the reply. As far as the second option I think it would be handy for end users.
