I have more hundreds of icons on my Windows 7 desktop, also in other folders and in Quick Launch, that take me to specific Internet sites, such as the NY Times. It's important to me not to change my work style.
How to do this with Sandboxie?
Put copies of all these icons into a special folder? Would it be simpler, and better, to put just the main browser icons (in other words, not the specific website icons) into a special folder? So, would I put just Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome into a folder?
Thanks,
Dave
Shortcuts to Specific Websites
If you use a registered version of Sandboxie you can force the browser(s) to run sandboxed, and continue to use your current url shortcuts.
You would need to know how to override the forcing for times when you want to run the browser unsandboxed - perhaps for purposes of updating the browser or its add-ons.
Would that work for you?
If you start the browser sandboxed first, and then use the existing shortcuts that you have, they will probably open a tab in the sandboxed browser instance that is already running - assuming that it's your "default" browser.
Otherwise you would have a big problem in trying to modify each shortcut so that its Properties > Target line includes the path to Sandboxie's Start.exe program, to get the shortcut to use Sandboxie's start.exe program to start the browser and go to the designated site.
