It may be my not understanding the program, but if I sandbox IE, then go on to a site and download a file to my desktop, should I be allowed to install that program? Running a program which has been downloaded by my kids is one of the things I was hoping this program would prevent. I was thinking that if I wanted to download a program and run it, I could close out SandboxIE.
Can anyone assist me in understanding how to do this please. Thanks
IE sandboxed but download still allowed

thats not quite how it works, here let me explain, Sandboxie isnt an parental control software or anything like that, so it wont block your children from accessing certain sites or executing files, or downloading files, etc. what it is is a Sandbox program, (hence the name) so what it does is it allows you to run your browser sandboxed, that way every single thing done with the browser ends up in the sandbox, everything from just visiting sites all the way to downloading content, it all ends up in the sandbox, that way it doesnt ever actually touch your harddrive, so if you or your kids download a exe file and execute it and it happens to install spyware or viruses, etc, you will be safe because it will all just end up inside the sandbox, then all you have to do is delete the sandbox and everything in it is gone. hope that helps, if you still have questions just ask, me or someone else will help ya.
